Hello,
My name is William, and I reside roughly 20 miles southeast of Glasgow. I’ve been involved in target shooting for around five years now. I have a small family and manage to stay active, regularly shooting both rifle and shotgun.
I joined The Stalking Directory in the hope of gaining experience and advice, and, as my own knowledge grows, sharing some of that back. I initially got into shooting with the ultimate goal of stalking game, but five years on, I’m still only been target shooting! As much as I enjoy it, and love plinking away until the sun goes down, I’m still very keen to get into stalking, and shooting quarry. That said, I’m not sure where to start or how best to begin.
I currently shoot .308, 7.5x55 Swiss, and .22LR, along with a few 12g shotguns. I also have a variation for 6.5mm and .357. I handload using RCBS equipment and favour Vihtavuori powders. I’d consider myself an enthusiast who’s happily fallen down the rabbit hole of ballistics and reloading.
Looking ahead, I’m planning to sit my DSC1 and would certainly be open to booking a guided stalk to gain some experience. I’m eager to learn, get out in the field, and start absorbing everything I can!
