My last Lurcher

Thanks guys. Every reply is appreciated.
I’ve had lurchers all my life but the world is different now
As long as I’ve guns I’ll not have a lurcher .

The Teckels keep me busy as having two of them is like having six normal dogs .

The good lady would love another lurcher but like you say the world is a different place and giving a lurcher the work it needs has become incredibly difficult.
I have also said that if no guns we will get pure grey bitch, a good beardie dog and start from scratch!
Condolences.

I wonder how many of us started our hunting lives with a lurcher/terrier or possibly an air rifle... many, I think, reading this thread.

Losing a good canine pal is always hard. We fill our heads with all the memories of quarry caught at full chat, or those lovely, easy ones that are picked out of the seat.

Indeed, times have changed with hunting a dog, which is a great shame. I've spent some of the happiest times of my life mooching about with a lurcher & terrier, every walk turns into a hunt.

I have thought of a mini Lurch... a leggy Lakeland x Whippet, but we have few rabbits, and my ratting is easier but less fun with an air rifle.

Condolences @Rake Aboot, enjoy those memories sir :tiphat:
