Her choice of violent films!
We argue because I loathe them!
I just don't see where the so called entertainment is in watching the wanting human destruction.
And then there is the crap storyline which is often a repeat of the last storyline.
And then there is the huge holes in a story.
Technical impossibilities.
Technical lies and farce.
The list goes on.

Anyone else loathe stupid violent films?

I've got no time for them, nor have I any time for the "Alien Experiences" and "Supernatural" sort of program that my wife likes to watch.
In fact I would be very happy to throw the Tv out of the window and live without one, but you have to keep SWMBO happy I suppose! ;)

Machine pistols, 10,000 rounds, everything gets it, concrete pillars, optics behind bars, walls, glasses, mirrors, cars, guys in ray bans with Yuchi suits & pony tails, brass cases everywhere, hero dives horizontally, never gets hit, same old same old.
But, there is a film that is an absolute violent masterpiece, Sin City, & Sin City 2, A Dame to Kill For, love it.

Doesn’t matter how far stretched they seem it’s bound to be better than the reality shows my partner likes.

The great majority of films that make big bucks these days are super hero films. I quite liked the Superman films with Christopher Reeve, but things have got all too silly since then and I really can't be bothered. But the "yoof" of today obviously like them. As for telly, there's less and less that appeals to me these days. Dancing, baking, sewing competitions FFS! Although there's the odd limited series if done well I enjoy. But for the most, I think I'm better off making my own enjoyment.

As for violence on the screen, I think violence for it's own sake is despicable. But if it's an integral part of telling a story then that's acceptable. Could you have a cowboy, mafia or war film with no shooting? Not realistically. But the likes of Arnie holding two impossibly heavy machine guns and blasting everyone in sight is not only improbable but gratuitous.
