The blue and the white knives above are actually going to be a set of three, there is a red one too, very patriotic you might think but the colours actually chosen to represent my clients football team allegiance.
Anyway, as mentioned elsewhere I managed to

the red one up, I simply thought that Kirinite, was Kirinite was Kirinite, it seems it isn't, having never worked with this pearlescent variety previously I cracked on as I would have done with the same brand material I have worked in the past, it seems this particular type is a bit more susceptible to heat damage, as you can see around the rear bolt in the photo below.
It was quite strange, the surface of the scale perfect, all the damage inside, so I was keen I was keen to get it apart as intact as possible, without destroying the scales, so I could have a look internally as it were.
So I carefully drilled and pressed out the bolts, they take some getting out.
Now I know the best next step here is to boil the scales off, but I don't have the facility to do that at the workshop, so with the steel being reasonably thin at 2mm I decided to pull the knife in the vice, flexing the thinner steel can pop them off, not a chance though.
I often use the term a wipe of adhesive, this is why they get that wipe.
As you can see, no fixings in there, just that adhesive.
I brought it home to boil it.
