My silver medal is back...

Hi everyone, i'm Milo ...actually the taxidermist that did that roe deer (been a member on this forums for some time ...but not very active)
Many many thanks for your appreciations 👏

I have to admit i was fortunate enough to work on some nice trophies for UK customers that have hunted in Romania in the past years, but actually to mount a trophy for a UK hunter, that was harvested in UK, was a first... and i am very glad that the owner is so happy with my work.

Just a week before packing the roe i have sent to some UK hunters a pair of nice Carpathian chamois from past season (maybe they are on the forums to confirm as well), and 3 mountain stags will follow soon .
Thanks everyone again

Fantastic mount ! Easily one of the best I’ve seen, your obviously very happy too 👍🏻
Bet there’s a few on here would use your friend if they can.
I'm over the moon how it turned up, my fiend is open foe business
Lovely mount. Is that cape from your buck or did he supply it?

Unfortunately is a donor cape, as the high neck .270 win shot made my buck cape useless.

The cape used was supplied by @steve109 , aka Steve Newcombe whom kindly offered to mount the buck for me, but obviously i couldn't refuse Milo, as he's my friend.

The face- on view is incredibly lifelike.

I’ve never had anything mounted ( but I did try to make a beer can eski cover out of a grey squirrel which shed all its fur and went in bin). What is the process for getting it to Rumania like that. I mean the transport, preservation etc.do you freeze the head then send it with chill packs?

if I ever decided to have something mounted it would be good to know what I need to do as soon as it was shot. I’ve read about needing to skin down to shoulders and more perhaps for a shoulder mount but that’s about all.

so would you not cut the neck to knot the oesophegus when gralloching? Any other tips?

Its not my thing, mounts, trophy's etc (its freezer filler for me), but that mount looks bloody amazing. Fantastic detail, so good it looks like it could lick its nose. 👍
