Hello people my first post so hope people don’t mind me picking there brains I’ve recently got back into reloading after a long break and I’ve treat myself to a new rifle a 6.5 creedmoor tikka Tac 20” barrel I’m currently trying n555 with 130vld Berger hunters I’ve also tried 143eldx and 140eldm I get good accuracy but low FPS im focusing on the vld 130 at the moment I’ve run up from Vihtavuori min charge which I found far too low as it didn’t even seem to seal in the chamber and I got carbon blow back to 0.4 gr over there max to 44.5 which is shooting brilliant 5 shots in 1 ragged hole 2600fps do you think I will be ok pressure wise or am I playing with fire cheers

Hi BBR.

In my experience, Viht are a bit conservative. What is the part number for the bullets and can you give your COAL? That should be enough for some kind soul to run the numbers through Quickload to see how close you are to the edge. :)

Welcome and kind regards

Ian

Sounds a bit slow to me for quite a bit of powder 🤔

I shoot a 20" Tikka 6.5 creedmoor and 39gr of n150 behind a 123 sst gives me 2760 fps.

@BBR was there any particular reason why you picked 555?

As we are both in North Yorks, if you wish to swop a small amount to try out then I have n140 and n150 available to save you buying further full tubs.
Pm me if interested.

How are you measuring COAL?
I measure full length and aim for 68 mm.
Your COAL appears very short as its only 57.5 mm so I assume you're doing yours to ogive, yes?
