cant find anyone local with one, so help is needed
looking to get n750 very soon and not sure what is needed to get the best preformance from the sight,
intended use is rabbit control out to about 100y range on .17hmr
will the scope alone do this or should i get an i/r add on ,will i need a lense kit???

any input would be a gr8 help

Out to 100 you will probably find the N750 will do the job on its own with its built in IR. However I am sure the addition of a NightMaster IR 800 would make all the difference. I have a 750 and it works very well but when I added the 800 it made a huge difference.

just out of interest as i know sweet fa about night vision is it the more powerfull the IR the further you would be able to see regardless of the quality of the actual night vision unit or does it not work like that?

Night vision will work without IR but only to a limited degree, add IR and you have a much improved result. The better the IR the better and further you will see. The advantage the Nightmaster with an IR LED has over a Laser is that it will not burn the tube. The latest IR LEDs used in the Nightmaster seem to be out of animals range of IR vision.
Since getting one of these |I have noticed that both fox and rabbit seem to largely ingnore it.

I use an N750 on a Browning T Bolt Hmr - it's fitted with a Gadsen Adaptor bought off E8ay & a Yukon 1.7x lens, I also use an NM800IR with 2x batteries & a pressure switch - it's awesome !! I shot 380 rabbits & 12 Foxes from September to December 31st
The N750 has an onboard laser BUT it's very grainy due to the diffuser that's fitted (eye safe legislation) I've removed the diffuser from mine but much prefer the NM800IR is far superior.

so it prob will do it on its own, but the extras are worth getting:-D
may sound daft as i often do, is there any light at all given off by led/laser ir or is it like i think its out of the human sight range' there for completely dark other than through the scope ??
thanks for the help so far

If you were to look directly into the IR led or IR Laser you would see a faint red glow - unless you had a 940mn Ir sorce but they don't throw very far - I can't think of any occasion when any Rabbits, Foxes or Deer I've seen have been spooked by the "Faint Red Glow"

+1 for the Nightmaster NM800IR on the N750

The main benefit for me is the onboard laser IR of the N750 contains a filter to comply with USA eye safe regs, which can make it somewhat grainy at times, particularly during use when there is considerable ambient moisture in the air.

The Nightmaster NM800IR, although not covert, has a wavelength of 850nm which is more covert than most IR lasers.

It makes a massive difference in terms of performance,

ouch!!! that hurt the wallet.
just ordered my new n750+nm800ir+lense kit=almost £1700 from scott country

guess there was only 1 way to find out in the end .hope the weather stays dry for a while so i can use it and earn the money to pay for it lol

Hi WeeCornishMan, thank you for your order, a little too late in the day to leave today for tommorow as UPS was collecting from our warehouse as your order came in, however it will be delivered to you on Wed.

Just a reminder, you as a Stalking Directory member have a free delivery voucher code, SD1Deal, remember it is there to be used!

I have as a gesture of goodwill however refunded your carriage.

Thanks again for your order, I have picked it personally and it is boxed and UPS labeled for shipment tommorow am.

many thanks for the refund on p&p on my order, was not aware of the voucher but will use it in the future, glad it was all in stock and can be sent together ,unlike the gear i ordered from "bushwear" as xmas preasents and by the time they took the orde,r sent what they had and let me know what was missing it was to bloody late to re-order what i wanted eslewhere!!
put me off buying off the internet ,thats got that off my chest

but thanks guys for the gr8 feedback with my order and restoring my faith of buying on-line

Have you ordered the extension tube for the NM800IR so you can run it off 2 x batteries ? It makes quite a difference ! Also a pressure switch is a good investment ;)

You won't be disappointed !! At close range (up to 100yds) the onboard doubler is good when using the NM.

Keep us in the loop on how its going and performs, thinking about getting one for the WMR

GOOD HUNTING

I can tell how good they are - Very !!

To get he most from the N750 you need the NM800IR with the extension tube - a doubler is a good extra but not essential. That's my findings anyway ;)

good god theres always more!!, when my wallet recovers i will look at getting extension tube and the pressure switch but for its looking a bit wish in the notes department lol.
cant wait till it gets here and will put it on as soon as i get it and will let you now how i get on with it
if it will go past the 100y all well and good, but if you got to walk up to pick it up, just as well shoot it from where i can find it. sure i can get to within 100y for now anyway

Assuming the 750 has a jack for external power source I would suggest investing in a li-on battery, lightweight and bl**dy good bit of kit.

As an aside for those using digital NV, have you experienced the "time warp" the split second delay between what you saw in the scope and what was actually happening down range, makes a difference when head shooting rabbits and explains those mysterious misses when the Rabbit moves its head at the last second....

Wee cornishman remember that atmospheric conditions will make a difference to NV performance one night it will be superb, maybe a good moon and no cloud, another night you will think that something is wrong with the kit, battery strength also will play a major part in performance, I have found that rechargeable batteries are unreliable, I found good duracells were best, used a couple of times then put in a headtorch for the remainder of their power.

Apart from a Li-on battery a good 5x spotting scope would complete the kit and that too can be run from the Li-on battery via a splitter.

Lidle of all people were selling a nice little digital 5x spotter made by Bresser £99, worth every penny.

All the best and welcome to the dark side lol.

Willowbank: When customers buy an N750 from us they get free of charge the Pulsar EPS3 lithium battery worth £84.95 as we agree it is an essential piece of kit, particularly if you are running the onboard IR.

V8 90: I am surprised you found such a difference with the extension tube to be honest. I agree particularly on the standard NM800 that the increase in onboard battery grunt with the secondary battery and extension tube provides a power ramp, however this was not evident to me on the NM800IR Mk2 model I have, however I did only try it once so perhaps worth a side by side IR test in the dark tunnel.

On a side note I have been using the NM800IR on the new Yukon Photon, and it makes a remarkable improvement on an already stunning bit of kit.

Wee Cornishman: Your package is in the warehouse out cages for pickup today and you will get an email UPS tracking number this evening to keep an eye on progress but 99% of the time it is next day apart from outlying areas such as H&I etc

Best Regards

Paul

I find the AA rechargeable batteries that came with mine last ages now I use the NM800IR instead of the onboard laser.

SC - I have never tried my NM with 1 battery - I'm going on advice/experience of others.
I can honestly say, I watched a Fox 1 night at 600-700yds through mine, I could see clearly what it was, positive identification - that's with a Yukon Douler fitted in a Gadsen Adaptor.
