Napier truck click

I know the napier auto-clicks are popular and lightweight, but has anyone with a swing door rather than hatchback used the truck lift?

Seen here: Apex Truck Click - YouTube

£200 however and including the auto lift which some people may already have (or any retracting ratchet strap).

Cheaper than donington version ?

could probably build one if i had the time, but might be good value if it saves my back...

thoughts please.

Cheers

No intention of lugging it about, intend fitting electric winch and using with a metal hanger of some description.

Is it worth £200 for above or £260 for donningtons?

or could something quite similar be made quite cheaply with bolts and square tube steel ?

If you are making it yourself then it should be possible to construct it for well under £200 unless of course you want to get it powder coated or galvanised as the companies I have used have had a minimum order charge.

I am making something similar but with just a roller at the top and will use the winch mounted on the hi level frame.

Used one last week, virgin outing, buggered.
Metal bent with a 120 ish kg fallow.
The unhappy buyer was going to complain.......

Interesting. Think ill save my cash and invest my time.

Border-how wide was square tube steel 20/25mm?

Ferryman- wont need powder coating, ill prime and paint steel myself. Would be good to see a modular design up here. If mine works ill post it. What thickness/sizing of steel will you use?

25mm, 2mm cube or 30mm, 3mm steel? Its probably ot worth it in stainless?

Can't remember exactly but I would think around 25mm.
If it's going to be in the truck anyway, over engineer it and make it strong enough.
Get those front wheels in the air

Was there any outcome to to the complaint? Napier are usually pretty good to deal with and they claim in their advert for the Apex Truck Click that it will support up to 200 kilos

Got one used once on a 50kg fallow buck. It bent and snapped got a full refund
won’t get another

I am looking at 25 & 30mm thick wall tube.
Hammerite paint

If you get box section in 25 & 30 mm x 2.5 thick the 25 will fit inside the 30 mm with a bit of grinding on the 25mm would hold a large deer no probs, and hammerite is an excelent paint

going to do some research, possibly build my version using above materials, target price sub £100 minus the fancy lift, pm me if interested
ferryman if you are going to sell your version please tell me and i will back off
Cheers
