Hi,

Just wondered what you good people think of the above, Is it as good as they say about protecting your guns against rain, salt, water, condensation and 100% humidity.

Thanks

Seems okay as good as a clean and wipe with an oily cloth. Although I have observed it stings like a bugger if you wipe it in your eye, again pretty similar to many oils. I think a lot of the gun oils are more marketing hype than effect.

Apparently you also need the formula x to clean it off ? I thought I might try a can just to see what it like, I quite like the hoppe's m-pro 7 lpx gun oil. But it hard to get hold of any.

Used super shield for about 6 yrs on a benelli M2 which I use on the marsh. No rust and no problems, except it will make the gun look like it has a thin layer of wax oil covering it which I never cared about....nobody sees you on the marsh.

I took it it all off this season with white spirit. No need to buy a ‘remover’.

That is what I thought about using white spirit's to remove it. Thanks for your information. I will also try the ACF50 as well just to see what the benefits are.

I find Clenzoil wipes excellent for my shotguns and rifles. Like super shield it leaves a waxy type finish once dry but it doesn’t feel tacky or oily.

Does it take long to dry, also what is it like once it has dried does it come of when handling the rifle?

Hi SamIOW,
I tend to wipe clean my guns using a Clenzoil patch and put them away in the cabinet. Next time I take them out (following day) they are a dull waxy “dry” which doesn't seem to come off when handling.
