I just used one of the cords that an ID clips on, I cut the clip off, threaded it through and tied a knot, been good for 5 years or so.

There was a chap on here who was making braided para cord jobs a while back, not sure if a search might bring up the details.

I use a piece of paracord. Not managed to hang myself on it...yet

I use an old sony camera strap.

I have one of these locked into the camera fitting underneath (1/4 inch ?) works well.
