New 12 Micron thermal rifle scope made in the UK

Just watched the video, thanks Clive. What’s going on with the white reticle changing colour when on lighter target? Assume that’s a design feature?
It is indeed. The reticule can be set to white, black or automatic as seen in the video.

On automatic the reticule polarity changes, depending on the background. Unlike earlier scopes that use the centre of the reticule to trigger the polarity change, the T-Ceptor PRO will polarity change on any part of the reticule which is very handy when applying holds.

Cheers

Clive can you advise as to recoil tolerances,IE will these scopes handle the big bangers recoil?

What would you rate them too?
Apols if its been covered but I didnt read every reply.
John this chart was done by David from over your way some years ago granted it was tubed stuff being asked about.

It's a complicated question. The .243 is right in the danger zone. My recommendation would be Gen2 or non-gated Gen3 with a halo size well above 1.0mm

I don't post this much here because in the UK there's not a lot of Gen3 and not a lot of use of larger calibers.

G/s around 300 or less = Usually OK. 400 = precautions as above. 500+ = DO NOT USE without recoil mitigating housing.

It's not an absolute list - just a guideline to help with NV selection Vs Cartridge selection. It's based on a 4Kg rifle ( US AR15 ) so take that into account also. Only fixed rifle weight counts. But it helps put peak recoil in perspective.

Regards
David

( I have the full table available if anyone wants it - this is just cartridge and peak recoil in G's - Note, Moderators and muzzle brakes will not have any effect on the below calculations )

Thanks Clive for helping out with my q`s.

Camo I`m afraid that my 9.3x64 @ 973 may be a tad much.

Not that i would ever think of using one on it..but!

Hi All,

I've been putting my T-Ceptor PRO 55-6 to some good use with the .17 HMR on a Rabbit control job on a part of the estate that has been a bit neglected on the pest control front by one of the tennants.

A little montage from last weeks foray:

Again, the view through the scope is considerably better than the captured analogue video.

I've set the contrast and brightness of the core a little lower than standard. Also lowered the display brightness. This gives excellent detail in both the target and the backdrop and a very comfortable image to view for long periods of time. This part of the estate has a game shoot on it and even distinguishing between ground birds and rabbits in the growing crop was very very easy. Not something that can be said for other thermal units.

It is hands down the best thermal image I have seen and is a total pleasure to use.

Cheers

Hi there,

We have very limited availability on the 55-3 on a production run scheduled for 2-3 weeks time. If you don't secure one of those then it would be the following run 2 weeks or so after that.

My best advice would be to get the order on as quickly as possible to secure the manufacturing slot.

We're increasing build numbers on every run, but they are pre-selling at the planning stage now!

Cheers

Gate is 114 yards.

Sheep lying down is 148 yards and on 2xmag (x12) you can see the riticle dot just below the sheep.
Image is better on scope than picture.
Mine is the 55-3 (6x base mag)

Hi All,

Put a 55-3 on the .223 this week for comparison.

Managed to get out last night for some foxing as ducks were going missing. A few more trips required!

I would say that for versatility the 55-3 is the winner, but for raw value horsepower the 55-3 is the one for dedicated long range foxing. I'm still undecided which to make 'permanent'.

Cheers
