I found this forum after purchasing a Heym SR20 in 6.5x55 SM, apparently not popular with my fellow countrymen but has a good showing here.

Would love to ask some questions of those who know about this rifle.

Lived in a bunch of US states, kind of a jack of all trades, master of none when it comes to hunting . Mule deer, whitetail, elk, caribou, bear, turkey, grouse, etc.

My preference has always been towards a backpack style hunt.

Aside from my new to me Heym I shoot a .264win mag and a .300 win mag primarily.

It’s a rem 700 so unfortunately the twist is 1:9, not great for those long pills. Also a bit heavy for carrying around all day.
