Hello everyone,
I’m an ex-bootneck, based in the Edinburgh, and have just joined the forum. I’m looking for some advice on how to get started with deer stalking in Scotland or the North East of England.
I recently completed my DSC1 course in Northumbria and am keen to gain more experience in the field. Ideally, I’d hope to find an experienced stalker who wouldn’t mind me tagging along on some stalks so I can learn as we go. I’m especially interested in improving my fieldcraft, as well as getting some hands-on guidance with gralloching and butchery.
I’m more than happy to help out however I can, whether that’s extracting deer off the hill, making tea, or anything else useful. I’d like to avoid spending thousands on paid stalks, at least until I’ve got a bit more practical experience under my belt.
Thanks in advance
