New Pixfra Draco Multi-Spectral 4K LRF Binoculars

Sitting in a high seat with my HE25 Habrok, reading this and thinking... Great, that's £2k gone 🙄🤣
Sorry - its the bloody pace of tech invention and like computers, iPhones, etc, where do you stop. With my Telos XP50 LRF I've reached that point with my thermal spotter. With binos, I think there's some way to go and what I'd really like is a pair of Leica Geovid Pro 10x32 with a thermal overlay built it. Huge tech challenges but maybe in my stalking lifetime we'll get there.

However, the base Habrok's did work for me, just not that well and they too got relegated to solely FL/LL use. Similarly, with my Alpex, I've gone back to using glass and add a thermal clip-on to give me the only plus the Alpex gave me at LL/FL. Back to these, the thermal on them seems much better and its smaller, better functionality and double the optical zoom which is actually useable. Sorry..... :coat:

Second question Ian @Blackwood Outdoors - I’ve just watched a German video which has a PiP mode called up that also appeared to allow displaying different channels, ie thermal as main and optic in PiP. There’s nothing in the manual whatsoever about PiP - any clues how to go into this mode as at present, it’s eluding me :banghead:

Long press of the LRF button - saw it in a vid last week 🙂
Yup, thanks just found that. If you do a long press again it changes the PiP mode. To exit, it’s a quick double press.

PiP is not even mentioned in the on-line manual. Hey ho, it’s turning into a real interesting device - just been outside in pitch black with it, the thermal and optical performance is impressive 🤗

Theres a new firmware coming, hopefully next week to reduce the LRF box size , I've suggested full removal and only visible when activated. A lot with be small firmware changes as this is Pixfra's first multi-spectral model and small things they will improve from feedback...

After having tested directly.
  • Size, the most compact binocular model out there.
  • Padded chest case supplied again, small and compact
  • x4 batteries supplied and charger
Sensor : 640px thermal performance good, comparable to equivalent Quest/Habrok with same sensors, combined with the 35mm gives a good field of view.
Optical : Good, I would advise using around 14-15 brightness , the default is 10, I like a brighter image.

Optical image stabilisation is handy, works well at distance, although little tweaks again with firmware should improve further.. it's selectable in menu if required.

In terms of value, definitely the best £££ for a 640px compact unit with day night optical and thermal channel with LRF. Your looking at another 25% jump in price for equivalent models.

Contact for SD member deals, if anyones in the market for one..

Good suggestions, the LRF box on all the time would bug me.

Is it the case that you HAVE to cycle through day, then night, then thermal? Or can you just have day/thermal? (just from looking at vids online it appears that way)

Mine arrived to day and impressed after a quick play.
Certainly a major step up from the Habroks HE25's.
A couple of wee things.
It would be good if rangefinder box wasn't permanently on display (as already mentioned by another.
Habroks went to auto stand by when the binos were in a vertical position. I will miss that function (unless I have missed it in the menus)

Received mine yesterday and love them. Its my first multi-spectral so no previous unit to compare to.
It came with the lrf target constantly displayed, which was an annoyance. So I changed it from constant to "triggered" in the lrf menu ...problem solved.

Good spot and not the most logical place to put it.. :)

So best setting currently is

Triggered > 15 Seconds

So now we need Pixfra to set triggered as default on the next firmware. Also 15 seconds is a little too long, 5 second or 10 second option would be ideal... combined with a slightly smaller LRF aim marker which is coming very soon via firmware update..
