New Pixfra Draco Multi-Spectral 4K LRF Binoculars

Tested the new Pixfra Draco D635 yesterday. Very good with 640 thermal sensor and strong digital. Available here in Sweden some time now but surely UK would be a much more important market but as promotion says aslo ideal for birdwatchers ...perhaps more of them in Sweden ?
Pricewise ca 27 english p and that sort of hefty. Don't know, but find warranty of only 2 yrs a bit chary ..
No real need for multi here in Sweden huntingwise as night optics only for boar and they come out well into full darkness.
Great to hear from someone that has actually used these.
Recommend retail police in the UK is £2000 (but can be found discount to £1800) which is very good value compared to the equivalent Hik Habrok at £2800.
Warranty on other Pixfra products in the UK is 3 years and I assume the Draco's will be the same.

Mines the same - DPD have been shocking lately. Still waiting for a business item I ordered on Jan 2nd that had a "next day delivery" guarantee....so god knows when these binos will arrive 🙄

DPD have been a mare lately with delays... I contacted yesterday, they said the DPD in Aberdeen was out of action for over a week and is still catching up with the backlog...

A load of parcels shipped out from us yesterday and some showed delay at depot that was out local depot, hopefully they clear all there backlogs and its back to normal soon, strange as some have no isssue and others do, with no reason. They did send an email out at the weekend, some areas having 3-4 days delay still, espeically Northern Scotland delay, probably backlog related. 😞

Mine was showing stuck in Durham for a day but has now reached Carlise (no there should be no weather delays in the South of Scotland) and is due for delivery today. Unfortunately, depending on delivery slot, I may have to delay it until Thursday

I was told backlogs in delivery depots when I inquired about it with DPD, Durham depot yesterday a lot were delayed, hopefully just the one day ...

Ahhh one of the first to receive !!
And I'm home 🤗

Quick first impressions (compared to the HE25L I had previously):
  • Very positive overall 😮‍💨
  • Good feel in the hand
    • Feels more like a pair of 10x32 binos rather than 10x42
    • Had a look at the bigger Habroks in SGC Exeter this morning - these are much more compact
  • Feel reassuringly heavy and not as plastic as the the Habrok
    • Box is VERY heavy
  • Loving the menu wheel/selector
  • Yet another infographic menu to learn
    • Menu is simple to navigate and set-up
  • Thermal is EXCELLENT
  • Optics are very grainy but I have yet to play about with the settings properly
  • Optical zoom is greater than the Habroks but appears useable at max - better than the Habroks
  • Surprised to see it came with a chest bino bag/rig
    • Has conventional neck strap too
  • 4 batteries, double charger
  • However, I'm struggling to set up the ocular and getting double images - had a heavy night last night so it may just be my eyes at present :coat:
    • Ocular adjustment feels more robust than the Habroks
  • Definite 3 year UK warranty on the binos, one year on the batteries
Yet to connect to the App but it comes with dedicated firmware update instructions.

So far, not disappointed 🤗

V positive 🙂 look forward to receiving mine.

When you say the optics are grainy, you mean the optical channel?

Also how is the image stabilisation on them? From using Habroks the stabilization that kicks in on max magnification is very handy.

More playing with them outside revealed that the graininess was from the "Defog" function. With that off, I'd say the optical channel was better than the Habroks. The optical mag goes to from 5.5 to 44 - at max I was able to study a woodie freehand - the EIS works well :thumb: What is a pain is that the base thermal is 2.5 so when you switch to optical, the optical image is double zoomed compared to the thermal. I would have loved it to be a 1:1 relationship and then you zoom in optically. The Habroks had a similar issue but it seems "worse" with these.

HOWEVER, I do think on my limited exposure so far, that I made the right call and these are better than the base Habroks. Out stalking on Friday now not tomorrow, so they will get used in anger on Friday and over the weekend.
