New T3x Ace game

Had a good look at the BSS inc getting the Sako staff member to walk through the design, really liked it. getting a good, very solid chassis rifle for not a lot of money comparatively. i'll be looking at the 7PRC.

I did ask about lead times on special order, I got 3 months from Sako as they say they operate on a 3 monthly order cycle from their distributors for which next slot is June as GMK aren't beringing in the Cerakote Bronze in 7PRC.

I also spent about 7 minutes handling one at the BSS on Sunday.
Specifically asked about the action/barrel. The answer was that it is the same as the Tac A1/CTR. The only difference is the chassis.
It felt good, well balanced but slightly heavier than I expected, no doubt partly to the Arca Swiss rail built into the fore end.

If I was in need of a new/replacement rifle, it would be on my list, but I do like the Tikka’s as I have a couple already

Were you guys looking with predominantly stalking in mind out of interest?

Thanks for the feedback

I was interested to hear reviews of these - one ex-SD member said he was really disappointed and that the build quality was awful - I can’t see how if it’s the same as a Tac A1 as I have one and it seems well built with the exception of the magazine (rusts too easily!)

Tikka just seem to work, it’s hard to fault them, and I wasn’t a tikka fan as had a bad experience with one about 15 years ago (T3 hunter where the trigger assembly came loose and it fired as I closed the bolt!)

Regards,
Gixer

I wasn’t looking at stalking, the game version is lighter and has the plastic 6 round mag as has been said. Had held the target version as that’s what I was interested in.

Owning a CTR and Tac A1, I can say that I haven’t had any rust issues despite been rained upon frequently and drenched a couple of times. But as jhtyttin said different, your mileage may vary.

Predominantly mixed use, bit of gong bashing for fun and management of hinds/fallow where a little more legs on MPBR will be appreciated.

Having spoke to my dealer, I have bit the bullet and put an order in..... GMK aren't listing the Cerakote Bronze in 7PRC however are bringing in a few for April.

Looking forward to having the fun of getting a decent build out and load worked up, plus the magnum scratch will now be itched

What sort of deposit did you have to put down? I’ve been told 50% to get a WM.

I deal with Greenfields of Salisbury and have for years, an email asking for price and timings was replied to in around 12 hours as they had to ask GMK given I wanted the bronze coating. Then once I knew that price (1650) and avaliblity I said “yes please” which the reply was “ordered, I’ll let you know when it’s here”

No deposit.

I’ve used greenfields in the past and is local-ish to a friends farm. I’ve just sent them an email for a price and time scale.

It’s unclear from my research so far does the stock folds?

That’s a real shame, especially as the Sig Cross hasn’t made it across in any considerable numbers.

I’m sure on one of the videos the guy from Tikka says they are coming out with more calibres and a folding stock later this year
