New T3x Ace game

Does the Tikka Ace Game have a stainless barrel under the ceracoat and how are people finding the synthetic magazine and the rifle in general ?

Held one at the Shooting Show for Foxes. .223 and it felt like perfection when stock was adjusted to fit. Thankyou.
I love mine in 7mm, the tikka mag can be fiddly to get into the mag well at times and I’d be tempted to try and swap for the CTR may well but, the cost of doing so puts me off.
The 5round mag is also only 4 in 7PRC.

I'm looking at one of these as I would like to have one rifle to use for both stalking and shooting at the range. Going to go and take at look at the gun shop tomorrow. The alternative option is the T3X Lite in green synthetic.

I think it is generally accepted that everyone upgrades from the standard plastic stock as they are not great.

I've got one in 7mm PRC, love the calibre, find the stock a bit faffy for the hill, I struggled to fit a sling with what I had so carried it in my Vorn.

Weight is very subjective, I believe you need a bit of weight in a rifle to help stabilise it for follow up shots.

Stalking with it was fine, dragging a red whilst carrying it was a bit of a shift.

On the Tikka Lite or the Ace Game?

I like the traditional look but I also really want something which has two purposes.
On the standard tikka, the supervarmint line has a decent stock. The ace game chasis is very good. If you don’t like the full chasis buying a supervarmint or similar and sticking in an MDT field stock or a KRG Bravo or echo would get you a decent rifle as a crossover.

I costed buying the SV Model and adding the MTD stock and it was more than the Ace Game.

Buying a used supervarmint is where I would go to save money. I prefer the ACE i have both the game and the target they are a well priced rifle. I also have a supervarmint barrelled action in the classifieds. Can’t keep them all.

I bought one, wonderfully accurate out of the box, stock was very usable for range work, shot quite a few deer with it too, and dragged it up the hill...

Ended up swapping the original Ace Game chassis for a MDT XRS, found it more stalking friendly (for me any how) while still being very capable at ringing gongs!

Still a .5" or less all day

That MTD chassis is around £ 600. which adds a lot to the Ace at £ 1600.

I think I might buy the Ace Game in Cerakote - initially I was leaning towards a more traditional rifle but the more I read and watch the more impressed I;ve become.

Try getting hold of an echo! Potentially a 6 month wait 👀

They are a lot of rifle for the money.
You could always pick up a traditional tikka stock easily enough if you wanted to swap over for stalking.
