New team member, 11-month-old Pentir Mo.
Arrived with me a couple of days ago.
Nothing to do with deer, but I thought I'd post a picture anyway as I'm fairly besotted.

I think so. I have fancied her ever since she was a small pup, and I've waited patiently for the opportunity to buy her.
It jolly well ought to be a good looker, and a good worker too. She comes off the same farm as this one:

To be fair, the average farm dog can't carry sacks of feed or tow a trailer! But most of my land is too rough to get onto with a quad anyway, so a dog is the only option for gathering.
You'd have to employ an awful lot of people to do the work of one sheepdog, and they'd all have to be athletes. That would cost a bit.

That's the thing people don't get the dogs will go on places steeper than any man can go! I lost my last collie in the autumn only 9 and the new dogs good but he's not the old dog yet when you think of the skills a good hill dog has they are cheap!

Any ewe that gives me the slightest bit of annoyance gets earnotched, and is first in line next time I'm drawing culls. I got rid of all the wanderers that way, but some came back again after I'd sold them
