New UK roe record

I would be pleased to shoot it but its not a Bonnie head. I'd far rather shoot something symmetrical.

However if I had shot said deer then I would definitely have had it shoulder mounted :-|

WOW what an incredible head! I think it looks amazing :-D
I do not understand the idea that an ideal roe head should look pretty.......they are a weapon on the bucks head and a symbol of his strength and masculinity and I think they should be as ugly and mean looking as possible! with tree trunks like that on his head he could just brush other bucks aside as though they were matchsticks.........
wrestle poodles and win!!!

Sorry guys, just a shameless plug, this picture was taken by me and posted on the CIC Trophy Measuring Facebook page at the CLA. Those of you are on FB should be able to see pictures and news like this first on our page. Search for CIC Trophy Measuring

i wondered how long it would take before the pic turned up on the SD.

I believe next weeks Shooting Times will feature some more regarding CIC trophies at the fair.

If you took the picture you could at least have photoshopped Mr Watson out of the background ;) First time I met him he was trying to help my wife catch a salmon on the Shee :thumb:

Thanks again for measuring the muntjac head I brought in at the Game Fair and next time I am up at the mother-in-laws I will give you a call and pop over with some heads to measure.

Not pretty and arguably ugly but certainly unusual. It reminds me of a friends tropy from poland. His looks like the top half of the left side of the rack was melted think a hot melted candle that has been squished. Again its not pretty but on a wall full of nice looking symetrical medal heads it really stands out.

'Twasn't so much the head that surprised me....more the fella who'd bought it for his collection. Whilst not wishing to judge books by covers* and all that, he didn't immediately strike as looking much like a sporting sort of chap (which in some ways is a good thing)

Non-typicals, as the Cousins are want to call them, are hugely contested and sought after in the US

*Who said 'Only Shallow People fail to judge by First Appearances'??

So come on then, what do we reckon he gave for it? I'm sure a few on here have sold heads and know what they go for. There must be some premium attached to the fact that it is the certified record.

Don't know and quite frankly don't care either. If the price is publicised it will encourage some to go out and shoot every buck they see in the chance it could be worth some money.
