Morning all

I’m going to be looking for a new smock as my trusty old Ridgeline is past its best. I’m looking for something waterproof but with vents and hard wearing for brambles thorns fences etc.

I’m a little out of touch with what’s good and what’s not and my budget it £200

Thanks for the input

Another vote for Deerhunter.
Upon one pocket failing, I went to the expense of upgrading all the pocket zips as the jacket is my preferred option.
Main zip is good.

only 3xl left now but holland country clothing have them at £110 might be able to get a 10% discount

Stoney Creek are rather nice

Mines feels tough as hell but very comfy and waterproof .
Worlds apart from my very old first edition ridgeline smock

Ive got a Hoggs 1 and im very impressed for the money.
Only about 80 quid and was out in some terrible weather last year.

To be honest 1 of the best wateroofs ive had, and a lot cheaper than many ive tried
I couldn't agree more. I have two and matching bib and brace over trousers. They're very underrated.

I've been wearing a fair amount of Hoggs stuff recently & it's brilliant. Good quality but not so expensive you don't cry if it gets shït up (or covered in sheep spray paint!). Starting wearing Hoggs boots this week too, great so far.

Aye i have the bib and brace and the zip up jacket too.

Very impressed by the lot off then.
Wore them a few frosty days too and surprisingly breatheable.
For the money i dont think u'll find better w/proofs.
And even paying 2 or 3 times price might not guarrantee better.
Well worth a shot.
And like someone said cheap enough ur not crying if u catch a barb wire fence.
U can go for years without ripping much, second u buy something expensuce u rip it 1st time out

Another vote for Deerhunter. I've had the Gamekeeper Pro for 3 seasons and still as robust as the day I bought it. Worn it in Scottish highlands on the reds and sikas, boar in FoD and is my go to on my local patch in Essex and it hasn't missed a beat. Very hard-wearing whether I'm crawling through heather, brambles or laying in hedgerow. Quick google shows you can pick them up for about £180 now, worth every penny.
