Night shooting assistant required.

Looking for someone to fill the role of NSA and daytime ghillie work.

Requirements-
Good sense of humour.
Familiar with deer recovery and atv work.
Good standard of larder work (training given if reqd).
Able to work right through the night.
Dsc1.
FAC.
ATV sit astride.
Manual handling.
Efaw+F.

This isn't a shooting role, this is assistance and deer recovery.


Will need someone to start in the next fortnight or so.

Based around aberfoyle or happy to get yourself near site.

Depends if the applicant wants hourly/nightly/or per animal. Works out roughly £10 per beast or £10ph. Whichever is higher.

one law for everyone ! Being Honest with every single police force having a special unit to specialize in this area , its relevant ! Should not be but it is , helping a mate out is still fine. Really and this is zero to do with the OP who isnt looking for free , its horrendous that we have slavery in the UK but we do in every dambed county apparently.

Better still, Forestry and Land Scotland expect night shooting assistants (for Rangers) to volounteer with no compensation...

I used to pay my helpers £15 per hour in 2005 for night shooting. It’s was only one deer per night at the end of the day and there was a lot of nights with 3-4+ deer so it still paid well enough.

And here is the problem with this site. OP puts exactly what it is and is very clear and then suddenly becomes a pile on for comments. Do not like the post? Its not for you? Move on then. In this instance the op has posted a comment on an open forum offering money below the legal limit. ie, Breaking the law. it would be like one of us saying I go out and shoot deer at night with no license in a built up area at night. If you have any understanding of HR then you would know that is a big no no. The way around that is to either say 'call me to discuss' or in not paying anything, or even say, mim wage. Job done.
pointing out to him that he could get himself in a whole heap of trouble is actually trying to save him problems. There are enough people who if they wanted could put his post in the wrong persons hand. Again, you have to remember that many non stalkers will read these pages looking for ammo against us.

Such is modern day life.

If I was starting from scratch again I would of happily paid the OP to go out with him as he's is an expert in his field and has a great way of teaching and passing on invaluable skills from locating deer - shooting - gralloching - extracting and lardering to a high standard

I totally understand the sentiment behind your reply but he has replied as roughly £10 an hour, so is roughly above minimum wage. I know quite a bit about HR, and its a minefield, but comparing illegally shooting to a minimum wage is a quite a stretch and a complete different set of legal parameters for arresting and prosecution.
I do not see anything that will get him into a whole heap of trouble or arrested for modern day slavery...And here I am turning the OP post into a debate...my apologies. And for the record.. I would happily do it. Enjoy your day.

Konar, I’d do it but only if you think our dogs would get on? I have a gwp x lab but he sometimes sulks but I think with a little time they’d get on with each other.
I’m happy with the pay and slavery terms it’s just the dogs I’m worried about.

Incorrect i’m afraid. For the 2022/2023 tax year that we are currently in £10 an hour is both above the national minimum wage and the national living wage.
