But then needs dsc1 and a firearms licence ? 🤔
Because you will be involved in handling deer so dmq1 needed, and fac for staying in the truck with a firearm that’s not yours while the guy goes to drag a deer off. Fls pishy criteria made up by some walloper in a office

Does having a FAC allow me to stay in the truck with someone else's firearm that's not on my ticket ? I thought not

Exactly!!! But in fls minds it must!! Load o pish really! I miss the days where you could just go out yersel and get on with the job but no now e basic need a heath and safety team in a car behind you
Don't worry enjoy it atm because it's only going to get worse. Everyone is getting so wrapped up in red tape, h&s and a$$hole covering it is becoming increasingly more difficult to do any job. I am pleased I got through most of my life without even knowing what a written risk assessment was.

No.
But insisting that the applicant has either FAC or SGC does at least safeguard against taking on a "prohibited person" or some other form of undesirable character who didn't ought to be anywhere near firearms at all.
As a currently dormant (looking for work) contractor fls have stated that providing the helper has an fac & sgc they would be able to take charge of an Contractors weapon if the need arose.
I argued with this and told them it was in breach of my certificate which states unauthorised access to my weapon is NOT lawful, get this, according to fls they have spoken to Police Scotland and have been "assured" by them that a Police Officer would be unlikely to to take any action.!!!!!!!!!
"unlikely" talk about a woolly comment from fls. total bunkum, I for one would not risk my certificate based on anything fls say.

No disrespect to you as you didn't set the criteria, but good luck finding an overqualified labourer for (probably) poorly-paid hard night work.

Would not a DBS (enhanced ?) check tell you this?

After witnessing quite a few ' stalkers ' who have poor skills/knowledge on the knife gralloching- extracting and lardering etc I think these are good opportunities for someone to get a crash course to improve their skills and actually get paid for it
