Night vision add on or scope?

So you cant use a scope without side parallax adjustment with add ons. ok that changes things a little

Yes you can mate. I've got a add on NV similar to a archer. I used it with Swarovski Zeiss Doctor Optic and none are Parralex adjustable and you can clearly see rabbit hare fox far further than would be ethical to even consider taking a shot

You can, but you'll need to keep the magnification low otherwise you'll not be able to get a focussed image on the screen.
Also, top end scopes tend not to work too well with add-ons because they are optimised for blue light which is predominant at dawn and dusk, and therefore not so good at passing the IR light used with an add-on.
If you have a rifle with top end glass on it, then don't bother with an add-on, get another rifle and put a dedicated NV scope on it.

Personal opinion on nitesite is a rip off! Overly priced for what you get and I wouldn’t put the quality any higher than the likes of the acguns night stalker or any of the guys making them. I have used lots of different units and in terms of add on I massively rate ludicrous lumens. I have an ll700 but the new vulpine looks excellent! Haven’t used the likes of the pulsar front add on as I can’t justify that money but I bet they are pretty insane! As for dedicated again on a budget I don’t think you can go wrong with the ATN xsight 2! Full HD day and night use and with an added IR the range is easily 4-500yds! I’ve tried the photons but their “day use” ability is pretty shoddy in all honesty! Great at night but no good for day! I have the atn binox which is the bingo version of the xsight scope and it’s absolutely fantastic! Used quite a few of the scope units and again I find them absolutely fantastic! I’m sure a good quality pulsar or the likes may be better but again I can’t warrant that sort of money!

Save some money and get yourself either a the longbow or an ARCHER, if you 're going Archer then put a Sightron in front of it. Knocks spots of other scopes that have been recommended, I've seen through leupold MTC and burris and the sightron is superb.

I am also considering investing in NV but it's early days yet as I am feeling my way & looking at options.

If you are considering a "home made" unit, it may be an idea to check whether it is waterproof & what recoil it can withstand.
Guys who know a lot more about NV than I do rate these units highly & I have no reason to believe to the contrary. However, some sellers websites do contain qualifications in respect of the points raised above.

VM is correct mine has been on a 280 ack and a 243 and 223 .22rf and my LL700 when fitted with the T67 it worked as it I was told it would with no problems . the vids show its performance .

As others have said you can't better a Longbow ( in my opinion ), I've had one for five years great bit of kit, and one has just been advertised in the For sale section, so that could be worth a look .

I think you have to be careful with excess IR and light with tubed devices though. Not so Digi NV.

I use a Cobra, which is the same as an Archer, in my opinion same quality as lower grade Archer, on a Z6 2.5-15×56, with dragonfly IR, easily take Fox's out to 300m if you have to, (I want them as close as possible), only draw back is I had an adjustable stock made by SSS as you need about 4 inches extra eye relieve, mine is an 85 action in 22.250 with ship an re- rebarrel.
