Nikko Sterling Steel-Lok Quick Release Mount question

Hey guys,

Pic attached. Can i get the 'lever handles' to point forward so the tip of the lever is pointed towards the bell end of the scope?

They do 'pull out' but it seems to make no difference, every which way I orientate the levers they put the same force on the screws so either lock or unlock the clamps, I can't seem to find a way to move the levers so I can repoisition their direction independantly to their use to screw/unscrew the clamps.

Hope this makes sense?

Hey John, Thankyou very much for your message here, but I don't quite understand your question. I do apologise.

Sorry, meant to say ‘cam’. Ie, when you unscrew the levers and take them apart, is there a little hex nut under the torx screw in the lever body housing? It might be you need to undo the torx screw enough to clear the hex screw when pulling outwards.

I’d be surprised if the design didn’t allow positional changes of the levers

I cant unscrew the levers and take them apart. I've put a screwdriver into the hex hole at the center of the lever but it only unscrews/screws so much, and doesnt totally unscrew.

Either the levers are fixed onto the screw, or there’s a hex nut shape to the outside of the screw, and it’s just sitting tight inside the lever body and needs a good knock to come out

Reply from Uttings.

the quick-release levers on these mounts are not designed to be repositioned independently once the mounts have been adjusted and locked onto the rail.

The final position of the levers is determined by the amount of tension required to securely clamp the mounts to your Weaver rail. Depending on the dimensions of the rail and the tension required, the levers may finish pointing downwards, at an angle.

Whilst it may be possible to alter the final lever position slightly when initially adjusting the clamping tension, there is no separate mechanism that allows the levers to be rotated to a different position without affecting the clamping force.

Therefore, if the mounts are correctly fitted and secure, it may be normal for the levers to point downwards. If they were level with your gun, they may then not be holding the scope securely enough, so we would not recommend altering the adjustment purely to change their position.

Disappointing product (not Uttings fault, they have provided very good customer service, but disappointing product - that the angle of the levers cant be adjusted, which is a feature many other similar mounts at similar price points do have)

@HonestJohn Thankyou very much for your help, even though it turns out nothing can be done! I really appreciate you taking the time to offer your thoughts/guidance.

I've tried everything short of enough force to break them, and I can't find any way to move/adjust them, plus as Uttings say they are not moveable. Shame

Unless they have been tampered with, you simply pull the lever away from mount - against light spring tension - and reorient in 60 deg moves around a hex.
