Nocpix nite D70R

The fact that all the usual YT & FB sales reps passing themselves off as genuine Deer people before they succumbed to the £££’s worth of new kit supplied for free, ( now influencers ) are very very quiet after making the usual all shouting and dancing hullabaloo about the product, it’s not stacking up and wait for the excuses to start spilling out not to mention the NDA’s they all have to sign when accepting said new bit of kit, like any passtime/hobby or industry that has a market it will be exploited.
My feeling is NocPix et all involved got a bit to excited and shot their bolt before doing a proper field proof test and are now running about going FK this will and is getting a brutal ragging for not living up to the hype, back to the code writing monkeys to fix it .

Disclaimer
I’m probably wrong but I couldn’t give a shat, Deer still moving, Deer still need dealt with NocPix or not.

I agree, all signs point to a flaw in the product being discovered, but no bugger is spilling the beans at all.

The rumours I've seen are:

1. The ballistics were knackered and needed a firmware update (which should have been fixed by now).
2. The USB charging port is open to the elements and isn't covered (unlike the Ace series of scopes where the turret rotates to cover this port), meaning moisture could get in and knackered the unit - this is TBC though.

All in all the launch of what should be a decent scope is turning into a damp squib due to the lack of clear comms.

Interesting the points/rumours you say are floating about, there’s a wealth of knowledge from R&D over the years of NV products being released to market and yet the rudimentary aspects of a Digi NV scope seem to of been overlooked 🤷‍♂️ first page first paragraph of the NV development manual should be USB port has an attached rubber grommet to fill/cover it eg ATN 4K ( I have one ) been out in biblical conditions and didn’t miss a beat like wise the ballistics calculator again Trac perfect ( I’m not an ATN Fan Boy ) as mentioned I have one, I might be lucky but it just works, I don’t use it for Deer it is large etc etc but I mean come on NocPix it’s 2025 there’s no real excuses .
They’ve shot their bolt and now have egg on their chin and now looking at hesitant sales .
I do hope they fix it and fast and in next to no time everyone is shouting from the roof tops, but I was contemplating dropping some ££ on it but I’ll bide my time my Leupold Deer scope and ATN night time shenanigans are safe for now….

Not sure how old this clip is

Not very far.

A few lads went to an organised night vision demo evening last weekend and had a look through the D70R and directly compared it to the alpex 4k they took with them for the very purpose of comparing the two.

They all agreed the image on D70R was not very good and not as good as the alpex 4k.

In there words ' hang on to your alpex '

Interesting. Happen to know which IR they were using for the comparison?

Just had this from OW😫
Hello,

Unfortunately, we’ve just been informed of a delay with the Nocpix Nite D70R. The manufacturer is currently dealing with a shortage of key components, which has halted their production. This is entirely outside our control. At the moment there is no confirmed ETA, though all existing pre-orders remain secure and will be fulfilled as soon as stock resumes.

I think its more of a case of nocpix shitting the bed because of all the negativity around this scope and it apparent lack of performance ,there buying time .

Just an opinion of course

Edit to say i have had same email from Sophie @ OW

Nothing to do with parts its just a crap image. It's clear nocpix is in the process of sorting a firmware update. Nocpix you were better off just being honest. We saw thst they had been shipped last week but there you go. Others have done the same and it makes them look like fools. Hik launched the condor without proper testing and ultimately it was awful. When will manufacturers learn. Handing over poor units to so called expert and influencers doesnt fool anyone. Total **** show all round

ATN got a lot of criticism when they first arrived in the U.K. for poor reliability yet i have two of their 4K scopes one since the day they were first available and FW updates were need for awhile but both are still working and work well.
I have recently purchased a zulus v2 to replace one but only due to the Zulus being less weight and having a range finder. NocPix would do well to learn from the ATN experience in the U.K.

Lets face it. Not all, but most of the influencers for manufacturers are gimps and 99% of retailers don't use products, they only sell them, just pure salesmen.

Across the UK on the internet, groups and forums, the people commenting, have not used one, they have never used a Nite period.. They're basing opinions on no actual first hand facts , just a few at a single demo and a handful of people with the products to promote, the ones who did have them, have no real knowledge of nightvision, performance or gathering the optimum footage, they have no technical knowledge and some have the integrity of a teabag..

The Nite will come soon enough, BUT so will many other products, be prepared, for improved technology allround from them all and to be bombarded with it...

At some point all products will move onto 2560px displays gradually, limited by cost, the Pard eX taking the initial leap along with side and central focus design, but fast aperture lenses are crucial for night time performance, even more so with UHD sensors, VCSEL counter acts this somewhat, but it doesnt counteract atmospheric humidity or naked lowlight performance...

I thought it was just me thinking that. They shout about whatever's new being the best thing ever, in some cases (Robin whatever his name is) shooting foxes with houses clearly visible in the background (how his licencing team haven't been all over that is beyond me) and people seem to lap it up. Meanwhile, China's still not sent anything to these shores with an image to match the Drone Pro.

Thats because the bulk of the market Europe, US, Aus , want a wide field of view and higher magnification is a very small market for them in comparison , so most don't design for this, plus it's addiitonal cost in them big lenses ,lots use them for running game, where as we only use them for static shooting.

If you were designing a scope for UK foxes it would be along the lines of an F1.2 100mm focal length with modern Sony Starvis 1080P sensor, with the right software algorithm, it would be a heavy brute but unbeatable in perfomance. If the Drone had a colour Sony Starvis 1080P sensor fitted and software improvement, it would be some scope, I'm sure the Drone 10x had an F1.5 lens but the lower resolution 720P sensor, with it's large pixels increased light gathering alongside this..
