In December I decided to treat myself to a new nomad caber smock at £425 (the most iv ever spent on a coat) I was realy looking forward to the day it come through the door. anyway I opened it up tryd it on ...
It absolutely buried me, was xl but looked and felt like xxxxl after walking down the stairs and picking my mrs of the floor who was crying in hysterics I decided to send the item back as I wasn’t at all keen on the colour either. Thinking abit more about it I decided to order the olive green quad rider for £200 and in size LARGE after the last performance!!
On arrival of the quad rider I had a scruffy handwritten letter scribbled on abit of scrap paper reading
“Had no xl try this)
Believe it or not it fitted??
The point of this story is i never got refunded for the original jacket. I rang nomad and can only describe the fella to be what I’d call a complete and utter arrogant self obsessed nob! (To be polite) Arguin over the phone with me about why I had returned it? Asking my height and weight haha I politely said look mate I don’t like the jacket it’s far to big and I realy don’t like the colour. I want me money back
To which he replied well uv got a bargain they should be £525. This went on for 20 minutes! Told me he’d refund my money then after another month gone by stoped answering my calls and no refund was made!!! Put it this way if it wernt for the company being based a good 4 hours drive from my house he was extremely close to having me nocking on his.....door! Iv just today 2months later finally recieved my refunfed money thanks to PayPal and there legal team. they made a case against him and eventually got my refund!
So be warned and keep clear!! Manners cost nothing something this stuck up prick wud do well to remeber !!

Haven't dealt with the people at nomad before but I can say the waterproof gear me and mate have from nomad is top notch but the sizing is massive

Sorry to hear about your ordeal but I had the exact opposite, I ordered the Quadrider and Plus 3's but the Plus 3's didn't fit, I phoned him and told him they didn't fit and I would probably need the next size up which he said wasn't a problem and I actually had the replacement before I sent the return.

Same here. He sent me two pairs of plus fours with no payment. Sent one pair back and paid for the one I kept. First class in all departments.

I have an old style Nomad jacket still going strong after ten years ,really good jacket.
Never had any reason to contact the company so I can't comment on service, though I have heard of people having an
long wait for repairs to be done.

Contact the Trading Standards office nearest his company premises and tell them that he has not refunded your money after returning an item that was purchased online.
They will chase him up and I bet it won't be long before you get your money.

Cheers

Bruce

Four hours away!! That's just around the corner here. I'd drive that far to pick up an item and deliver a replacement if I was the seller.
Good to hear you got your money back though.

Big fan of Nomad smocks but I agree that the sizing is not quite right for me.
I've got a couple but they've either been secondhand or bought in a sale in a shop so I've never had the privilege of dealing with the owner.

Sorry to hear your story - Nomad does appear to be marmite. I’ve got on well with the owner and found him to be most helpful. I bought my Caber from him in person at last years NEC show and he was the perfect salesman, helpful, informative and not pushy at all. Last June I bought the fleece Quadrider for an excellent price when he was kind enough to come down to Wiltshire to support our AGM and he offered a Caber FOC to support a military fundraising charity draw. I picked up the fully zipped shooting jacket secondhand off here and that I wear daily to work come rain, come shine. The Quadrider has become my go to stalking smock in all but heavy rain and I cannot recommend it too highly. It’s done 2 solid weeks stalking on Arran in foul weather and weekly over Glos and Wilts. When it’s plastered with mud/blood, I chuck it in the washing machine and hang it up to dry - it’s dry by the morning ready for the next stalk. An excellent piece of kit - I’ve added Velcro tabs to the wrist but that’s all I’ve needed to do.

Iv no problem with the quality of the products I own a older nomad smock which I purchased second hand. It’s the way I was dealt with and spoken to, I don’t pretend to be the richest self employed plumber in the world, I work hard for what I have and when ur made to feel like ur doing wrong by returning a product and are made to feel that uv done wrong by damaging the guys ego by having the cheek to return a product that looked as if ur wearing a bed sheet! (And that’s no exaggeration) but to have to raise a case with PayPal to get ur money back I personally think stinks! I couldn’t of been anymore decent and polite to the guy over the phone. But ahh well got there in the end!!

But we are not in Victoria here, this is the UK. An eight hour round trip here is a nightmare of traffic jams and slow traffic, driving around the UK is certainly not like Victoria, or even France for that matter..............It’s a ballache!

He's obviously not heard "One customers worth ten" or "going the extra mile".
Hoggs Of Fife were amazing with a gift I had as a present & couldn't do enough. Been back for several more items since.

He should take a hint from Aim sports, I bought an aim 50 in October, out last night and the zip give way, just called aim, could not be more helpful, immediately offered ( more insisted) to have it picked from me by courier and replaced, I have to say I was pleasantly surprised with the level of customer service .

I looked at nomad gear a few years ago, specifically trousers, asked where I stalk, l said lowland, woodlands, and was told by the owner nomad was not for me if there was a single bramble......so I passed! Apparently nomad means upland only!

That is very different than my experience with Phillip Wright, the owner which has been a very good one. He can be a little eccentric I admit.

My 13 year old ex demo smock still going strong, the most breathable jacket I have. I ripped the elbow on wire and rather than try and flog me another one he put me on to Stormsure - Adhesives, Tapes, Repair Kits & More and the adhesive has done a great job of a repair.

Sounds like some very poor customer service there....I would have expected much better service considering the price tags of their gear. How disappointing.
I won’t be buying anything from them.
