hi everyone i just thought id mention this on here to see if anyone else has had the same problem, i bought some norma 76gr tipstrike factory ammo and it has been extremely overpressure, every case either has large cratering or the primers have been priced as you can see bellow, has anyone else experianced this?
im also now needing to find a new bullet and im probably going to lean towards hornady, has anyone got any recommendations?
thanks so much.

Primers can crater & ‘blank’ at normal pressures due to other circumstances.

As Smellydog has just written - the primers don’t indicate abnormally high pressures.

I’m wary of assessing pressure only by how flat primers look but none the less the shoulders of the primers are very rounded & seem well short of ‘over-pressure’.

Have you used this ammunition before in this rifle?

It’s a custom 700, but I’ve nor had the holes in the primers happen before except for on my blaser with over pressure loads and I thought createring was a sign of high pressure but thanks for the feedback.

A simple kind of test for standard rifle cases is to measure the brass above the extractor groove and write it down. Shoot the cartridge and measure the same case in the same spot.
If it hasn't grown by .0004" you are pretty good.

A land as there’s no danger with it it’s not a bother for me, can it cause harm to your rifle or is it just a simple case of just having a hole in the primer?

Unless Norma have changed their ways, they might not be loaded by Norma. All Norma factory rounds used to have 'np' on the primers so that people could indentify reloads IE fakes.
Havent seen that for the last 20 yrs, here at least. Some are brass coloured some are Silver, most usually the latter. Factory loads.
