NRL Hunter UK

Good afternoon folks.

Those booked on for Gardners should have received an initial email now, a further email with final details will follow next Friday (1 week before the match).

As always, any questions or observations, please just let us know.
You mention sticks or tripod required I was rather hoping some of the longer shots could be made from a bipod but no mention of that in the email? Don’t fancy a 600m shot of sticks although I’m sure it’s possible of a tripod which I don’t own mmmmm

Longer shots will be made from a bipod but that’s part of the kit we expect everyone to have already. That list is of things we see shooters not already having.

Not going to make the first centrefire match unfortunately... but my Open Heavy build is coming along nicely 👌

With a few tweaks and some £££'s I could probably make Open Light too

What's everyone else running?
I used my Tikka T1x in the factory stock for the first NRL Hunter UK .22lr match a few weeks back, which served me pretty well, so I'm going down the same route again with my out the box T3X in 6.5 creed, which was 550 quid second hand!

Chucked on a 20 quid arcarail via the factory stud points, so I can use MDT ckyepod and Vortex tripod. Wildcat mod. Zeiss S3 on top. Total weight = 11.6lb and qualifies for factory. Then carry a shooting bag, binos and rangefinder

It's the exact set up I used on the deer last week (swapping sticks for tripod) and from match the week before. It's purist approach, but this series definitely doesn't need shooters to have loads of kit.

I'm no Joe Pask, but I managed 2nd in skills division, so it's a great leveller. I reckon I'll enter factory and hope for the best...

The photo is my .22 setup, but T3x looks identical with +2 inches on barrel + bigger bolt etc (NB barrel was cleared, no mag, etc)PXL_20250124_120808041.MP.webp

Using my Coyote that I use for deer work

Haven’t weighed it and not really bothered if it makes a class or not

Happy to participate, continue to develop my skill set and support the cause

👍🏻
This is the way! First match was excellent in that sense. I learned so much, didn't focus on it being a comp, just an amazing learning experience. It will unquestionably make me a better shooter and hunter. It was also a lot of fun, great atmosphere.

What was great about our latest Partner is that several members were already having rifles built by James at the point he agreed to come on board! He’s even building one for another one of our Partners!

Having seen his work in the flesh, the fit, finish and performance are exemplary!

We’ve read lots of comments on here on other threads.

We’ve heard lots of things about lots of people.

We’ve also experienced some things first hand, allowing us to form our own opinions and hopefully inform others.

Like anything in life, people have the freedom of opinion and choice, as long as it’s founded in reason then we respect it.

If any of our members choose to not take advantage of this, or any other, Partner offer then that remains their personal choice.

For those who do, our positive experience will happily be shared for their benefit.

For those who don’t, we respect your choice, please respect other people’s.

Had a couple of barrels done by James, a few times he's talked me out of spending money with him.
Saved me a fair chunk of change getting a pre-fit from Heym. Not a bullshifter, has a lot of very happy customers. There's a weird angry man who slags him off on Facebook, who becomes abusive when asked why. His rifles shoot. His prices are a reason to question the value of others, more than him.
