NRL Hunter UK

My view for what it’s worth is that in the background the Army is chucking lead around in volumes that make our contribution negligible. Furthermore there is a legal framework now set out which gives a grace period. I do not see any benefit to moving to a lead ban prior to the end of that period.

We will be using the grace period to the fullest!

And the obligations the ranges commit to, in relation to managing the lead ban, are simply that, their obligations. We must work with them however, to ensure shooting continues in as ethical a manner as possible!

Thanks for the reply. I figured temporary traps would be a no go but dont ask and all... can you keep this post updated ref who's getting on board? If you could get the likes of yew tree or virtus on board with some small discount (couple of weeks ago 2 boxs of yew tree came to £115) it could get more people on board or for us that would find it difficult to justify to ourselves/Mrs or whoever that jump in cost.

When's the next Eskdalemuir match going to be? I'm hoping to attend

Reloading UK have just come on board as a partner and will be providing discounts accordingly in due course. Happy to listen to any other partners that may be worth working with, if you want to drop me a DM we can discuss it.

All the dates can be found on our website -

Keeping in touch with our members and the wider hunting community has never been more important! To this end we have launched a WhatsApp Community, where you can get the latest info and interact with other members.

Not for everyone (I’ll get that disclaimer in there) but for those who want to use it, it will be a great facility to have:

Load carrying, especially between stages, is something we find ourselves speaking about quite often.

At our last match one of our hunters used one of these to great effect!

There are lots of similar items out there, so fee free to share yours, but these are reasonably priced and widely available.

**We have no link to this company or make anything from sharing this, it’s just really good kit!

I've been looking at something similar to this. Does anyone know how they cope with a heavier rifle? Im not talking match rifles but varmint barreled rifle?

Is there a legal framework?

All we have so far is the HSE report, who knows what the legislators will come up with!

Hi guys, is there anymore infomation about the saturday at Orion before the Comp on sunday?

We are just waiting to finalise details with the venue but I can say with some degree of confidence that it will be a relaxed open day, providing attendees the opportunity to get dope and tune kit.

We are optimistic that it will be reasonably priced, hopefully the same price as the match the following day. This is to be confirmed.

Either way it will be happening and you can make plans for accommodation and logistics with confidence.

We are purposefully trying to get it nailed down and will put any more info out as soon as we have it!

Morni'n Chris, When could you expect to update Rangemate to have ability to book on the pre match Saturday?.

Tune-up day will be going live on Range Mate this evening.

It will be £120pp all of which goes to the venue. We did our best to bring it down to the same match price but it’s a decision beyond our control.

It will be a nice relaxed day, giving people the chance to prep for the match (away from the COF).

There will be some very experienced NRL Hunter shooters there and whilst *we will not be putting any formal instruction on* I am confident there will be lots of people there who are happy to share some learning!

If you’re not shooting the match and you want to come and see what it’s about, then Saturday is a great chance to do that!

Format for the day:
1) 100m zero session
2) From the main firing point, an opportunity to gather dope out to 900 meters
3) NRL Hunter stage drills (you will not be using any stages from the Sunday match. This session is not mandatory. Feel free to give it a miss and make the day your own)
4) For those shooting the match on Sunday, complete rifle registration

We will use the zero session to gather your Power Factor ahead of the match on Sunday.

Now we know this, I will be putting an email out (most likely tomorrow) to all of those who are booked on, confirming salient information and details of both days.

We will put at least one other subsequent email out between then and 7 days before the match, so check your emails!
You do not have to attend the match on Sunday to attend the Saturday train up so if you simply fancy an opportunity to zero and tune your rifle out to long range this will be a perfect opportunity for you.
