Ogden's compact Roe Sack... brilliant!

Just wanted to say that this is a brilliant bit of kit made by Phil Ogden. I was a bit worried the compact version might be too "compact" but I need not have been. As you can see the sack swallowed up this good sized roe doe with loads of room to spare. The two side pockets are ever so useful - I've got a portable gambrel, a big bag of disposable gloves and an APHA blood sample kit in one and a range finder, buttalo and fox call in the other - with room for more bits if I need it. I'd strongly recommend buying the optional braces as these allow you to have the belt itself nice and comfortable. One of the best bits of kit I've bought and Phil couldn't be nicer to deal with.

Love mine too....I have an older version without the braces- wonder if phil would retro fit the braces attachments?

The braces clip on at the back and fit onto loops which you simply slide on to the belt at the front. If your belt already has the eyes for the clips on the back, then you are good to go. If not, then I am sure Phil could come up with a work around. I think the braces are a must have - without them I had to to the belt up quite tight to stop it slipping down. But with the braces (regardless of how much extra stuff you cram into the pockets) you can have the belt as loose as you like making it really comfortable.

I was wondering if braces were available, im trying to work out what the padded ’X’ bit is where the straps go in, would it be possible to post an image of them when you get chance please.

Here are a couple of pics which I hope help to clarify.

The braces come with a strap which connects horisontally across your chest. I have removed this as I felt it wasn't adding any support and was just getting in the way.

The clips on the back (shown in the close up photo) are brilliant. Using similar clips on the front (even if they were just on simple belt loops) would make this set up even better.

I have adjusted the buckles at the front so that these now snap together to form a loop over the front of the belt - which isn't quite how the braces are designed but I found this works best for me.

The padded x-bit you are referring to goes against your back before the braces come over your shoulder and down to the front of the belt.

Brilliant, thanks for taking the time 👏👏

I just fitted a lightweight military webbing yoke to mine if I’m using the side pouches works great as Phil didn’t do one at the time.

I also replaced the belt buckle with a roll pin buckle so there is no slipping during the day.
