Have you looked at the website? It has pictures that might snswer your questionsHow do the waist bags work, where is the roe sack?
Yes I’m in the market for a compact waist roe sack and Phil Ogden does a good one and since all my slips, sika sack and a custom small haversack Phil made for me, it’s hard to look elsewhere only Napier have something similarI think most of us on here would just say, buy the Ogdens. I have 2 of his roe sacks, and cannot fault them.
Phil Ogden only uses the best materials, that’s why his products are built to lastGot to say phil at Ogdens knows a thing or two about quality and customer service
Always 100%![]()
Correction- mine is a roe sack but still can squeeze 2 x 16 kg roe in.I have an Ogden (think it’s a Sika Sack). Really well made and roomy. Carries 2 roe no problem. Had it for 10 or 12 years and no signs of falling apart as yet.
However I wish the straps were easier to adjust. I find it difficult to tighten the waist strap sufficiently and the weight remains on my shoulder, which can make it an uncomfortable carry if over any distance. Can anyone advise if the straps on the newer ones are any better?
Squeeze them in, problem is you then have to carry the sods out. lol.Correction- mine is a roe sack but still can squeeze 2 x 16 kg roe in.
True, not as easy as it used to beSqueeze them in, problem is you then have to carry the sods out. lol.
Agree that the Compact Waist Pack style Roe Sacks are not cheap, however there is a lot more work involved and components compared to the "Yule" type of roll up roe-sack, hence increased cost.Ogdens do look good but the issue with any bag is always getting it clean.
It is also not that cheap.
You can get a sack that rolls up as a waist band and can easily be washed afterwards.has adjustable straps and is half the cost.
Will also take two roe deer easily. View attachment 369220View attachment 369221View attachment 369222View attachment 369223View attachment 369224

It’s one we make. But only for special orders. Made from 600denier material (most are 400) and marine webbing and clasps. What sack is that if you don't mind me asking?

I use exactly the same thing, but I am very tempted with an Ogdens offering
Yep ticks are a curse but I find them no better or worse with the compact sack. I previously had a poppins sack and the buggers still got out.Agree that the Compact Waist Pack style Roe Sacks are not cheap, however there is a lot more work involved and components compared to the "Yule" type of roll up roe-sack, hence increased cost.
The "Yule" sacks certainly suit a lot of folk, however they do not stop blood lashing down the back of your trousers and have very limited effectiveness against tick transition in the spring and summer months.
