I've used a Portland 90 on a 110kg stag so you'll be fine on fallow. I don't personally bleed stuff so have no need for a long blade. I'm only ever cutting a few mm of skin / membrane at a time when gralloching so much prefer a smaller blade, regardless of the species.
Thanks, I appreciate that. I took the picture on very foggy morning on after a sika hunt.
I am delighted you are enjoying the Argali there a fantastic knife.
Here’s my two small blades, they work a treat, kydex and one with scales has a leather shesth as well
Will grallock and tip out anything, I guess if you to bleed the naked one would do the job with ease View attachment 397908View attachment 397909
Hi both blades are Danum muntjac the top one is just steel and razor sharp
The bottom one slightly smaller muntjac style with a nice wood scales and liner I had a leather and a kydex sheath made to be honest it does anything you could ask, Alan at Danum created exactly what I was looking for, just a strop up and it’s back to razor
Give him a call and he will make the the blade you want
Cheers
Phil
