Opinions Tikka Tac A1 vs Ruger Precision Rifle

Anyone have any first hand experience with both rifles?
-Tikka Tac A1
-Ruger Precision Rifle
I am looking for a new rifle in 6.5CM and have narrowed it down to these two!

Any advice, tips pros and cons most appreciated!

Hi I am looking to buy a 6.5 Creedmoor not sure which one to go for an expert opinion will be much appreciated. I am stuck in between Tikka T3x Tac A1 vs Ruger Precision Gen 2. The rifle will be used for Purley target shooting. Regards Faz

I have shot both out to around 1200yds so far and don’t think you will go wrong with either. I bought the tikka tac and love it but that was nothing more than personal preference

I have the Tikka, better build quality imho.
There are more options available for Tikka’s in the UK than Ruger.
Ruger are overpriced in the UK imho.

Yes, have heard of problems with build quality with the Ruger too. Barrels threaded off centre etc but they do seem to shoot ok. Tikka seem to be pretty well built

I’d say your resale value, if you had/wanted to sell it, would be higher with the Tikka than it would with the Ruger!

I shoot left handed as i am blind in my right eye however prefer a right handed bolt. Am i able to spin the cheek comb by un doing the wingnuts and swapping it the other way, do this work?

Yes sir, just checked and you can flip it around - you will need to remove the circlips that are on the end of the bolts though.

If it's like the Tikka T3 then the comb is ambidextrous and you can swap the adjustment knob to the other side.

tikka all day and night no comparison on build quality

If it's like the Tikka T3 then the comb is ambidextrous and you can swap the adjustment knob to the other side.

Is that you Mike? Do you have any experience in the Tac A1, I have the T3X already in .243.

no it is not Mike i shoot along side a large number who use both the rifles you mention ALL the ruger owner regret there purchase after comparing and shooting the tikka ,just the bolt removal alone

Sorry, I should have been clearer, can you still fold the stock okay and it lock in place if you spin the cheek piece around?

Yes, it will still lock in place.
