optics trade eu.

they did provide this but as i stated it kept getting updated to the next day and then the next. it wasn't really showing anything to update.
That was all down to UPS getting it through customs. I've had (big) items from Optics Trade since Brexit with no hassle when UPS were not involved.

I was getting tracking updates from UPS for two weeks before I was asked for the duty. At one point I was told the item had arrived in the UK and was then told it was still in Germany 4 minutes later. Once the duty was paid, it arrived next day.
Optics Trade are now registered with UK HMRC for VAT, I believe, so EU VAT should be paid without anything being added this end. I think the problems stem from UK jobsworths, who were/are anti Brexit.
It's a bit like the police holding up Gun Licenses.

This does look like a UPS issue, i had an item from poland a few weeks pack, parcelforce sent me a letter requesting payment of the VAT which i did online and could also pick the delivery day. All very straightforward.
The item was not firearms related.

Oh Lord.

As a frequent customer of Optics Trade, who has only ever had positive experiences, it’s unfortunate to read of the OP’s situation. I do believe his frustration with Optics Trade is misplaced and his grievance should be with UPS and/or UK customs as emails from UPS would suggest the package is in their possession.
I know when I order there’s up to 8 options available for delivery partners so am not limited to just UPS, who I can’t find fault with either.

I find Optics Trade’s customer service top notch. I have previously availed of their refund policy and true to their word I received a full refund once the product was returned. I have also picked up the phone and called their offices to consult with them about scope mounting options and within 5 minutes received a call back after they had checked stock in their store. That’s a huge ask for some businesses.

What has prompted this “defence” of Optics Trade is my latest interaction. I ordered scope rings yesterday, 10/05, and received them today, 11/05. 24hrs from Slovenia to Ireland and delivered by, you guessed it, UPS.

@gr cz527 , please keep this thread updated for when your DNZ mounts arrive.

If @Optics Trade EU have given you a refund without goods being recieved on either end, how is this poor service?

Having sent items via courier and to have them go missing is very frustrating, a lot of time and energy required to deal with courier services whose employees are often on poor rates and could not care less if they dumped the parcel at the wrong address or if it's sitting in customs waiting for forms to be filled... worse still when the person receiving the item wants you to waive a magic wand and have the goods arrive yesterday

Better to take the loss than get a poor review (which seems to be the result here, for now) so maybe the thread title should be changed by either the OP or Admin?

i have tried to edit the title but unfortunately i am not able to, its only fair i agree.

i have received as others have said would is the UPS email asking for further information and payment etc. so glad i am not the only one affected by this issue sadly it will have an impact of optics trade and there custom.

i would add no one is waving any wand, i had waited i feel a decent ammount of time before getting in touch with the supplier and UPS about the missing item.

gr cz527 I understand your frustration and deserved annoyance. My own experience with Optics Trade EU has been very positive and I'll be happy to trade with them again. Admittedly, I have a slight advantage in being in the EU, but that apart my experience was entirely positive and they went to quite some lengths to satisfy my requirements. I wish you all the best with your purchase, may they wear well.

Hello all,

Company Optics Trade invests heavily in customer satisfaction, which is also the main value of the company.

Our company cooperates with various delivery services, but unfortunately, we sometimes cannot influence the speed of delivery. We always send the tracking number to the buyer so that he can accurately track the delivery progress. Customers are also advised to contact the local mail carrier (UPS, FedEx, Post Office, DHL.) upon arrival of the shipment in the destination country for faster and more efficient delivery.

If the customer cancels the order when it is already on the way, we, unfortunately, have to wait for the package to be returned to our warehouse and arrange a refund upon receipt. This is the general business policy of online stores.

If refunds are made before the goods are returned, the seller risks that the order is still delivered to the customer who already received the refund. UPS does not cover the financial loss in these situations.

In accordance with the post-Brexit legislation from the 1st of April 2022, UK customers have the VAT included (at Optics Trade) in all the purchases and will have no additional customs duties when the order arrives at the UK customs.

We emphasize once again that we value your satisfaction above all and we are always ready to help in awkward situations. This is why we have made an exception for you and fully refunded your purchase early.

Thank you for your understanding once more.

Kind regards, Optics Trade

👍Don’t forget.

When an item arrives in UK customs it is deemed NOT TO BE IN THE UK until it has been cleared!

I have family in Canada.

They sent my wife a nice necklace complete with Diamonds (mined and dressed in Canada).

Posted. 28 November 2021 flew out of Canada on the 30th November. The plane arrived on the 1st December.

The Birthday was the 2nd January this year and the necklace completed customs on the 12 March.

It was tracked into the UK, but was sat in customs so long that (over the 28 days tracking stays live). The family had no choice but to claim on the insuranc.
The wife is very pleased with the necklace
