Thanks Russ, my plasterer bath is ok but any decent weight in it and the front digs in a bit on stumps and tussocks.
I shall put my name on ze list

No worries - yeah gave up on a bath long ago. Its the mini you will need (110x58cm I think) and will take a couple of fallow does.

D308 will probably need the Maxi for his reds, which when looking at it in a shop just looks comically large

What about a trace sled, I read the negative reviews, bought one as new second hand, made my own runners and fitted longer screws and bigger diameter washers, I have dragged it over some nasty ground with stags in it and so far no issues.
I'll pop up some photos later, made runners out of old steel guttering the farmer had lying around, I also reinforced the area to drag

I'm tight anyway so no way was I going to spend £50 on something I can make for nothing, it's all working fine so far, even after the farmer dragged it over rocks!

I too have a mini-Otter, from the Hunting Lodge, had it a couple of years now. Very good.

@devon deer stalker how are you finding the sled after another 6 months use?

It has been absolutely fine, taken out some big stags out of some nasty places when combined with my Capstan winch.
My home made runners have taken a bashing but held up.
