The shoot works out at approximately £43 per day, no tip etc needed. There is a big misconception in the media that shooting game is a rich man’s sport. It is more affordable than a football season ticket!
Just over 400 pheasant poults release. We shoot driven to a small team of standing guns. Each day costs about £170 (first time I’ve worked that out ) as we also pay for a beater each on the day.
We have to pay a contribution to grass keep. But we have a team of probably 15 beaters that turn up every week for nothing. Everyone gets on and enjoys the day weather its a success with the number in the bag or not
