Out last night.

I'm out foxing at the moment, put the caller out only to find I'd left the remote turned on since last outing
Anyway, got in the seat and first scan, there's a fox, one down. Now, why is it my mouth goes dry the minute I see a fox and I can hardly mouth squeak!
Hour later and a second fox comes steaming into what I can only describe as a half hearted dry mouthed nothing  Had to ask it to stop at 50 odd yards before ot got to close.

This has happened to me in the past , I keep my caller etc in a large camera bag and a couple of times the remote has got pressed on and as you said dead , I do keep spare batteries ,but made a rigid collar that slides over the buttons to prevent them being pressed on

I got busted last night walking past the herdsmen accommodation on the farm, Charlie was walking towards me! Disappeared into the maize.

Just added this cheeky bugger, was out for petrol before travelling Thursday, I'd stopped to chat with the farmer who had been busting nettle patches with the flail, spotted him sniffing round the ex wife.IMG_0848.webp

Fresh intel just in!
Looks like I've had a drop.
This is right by that vixen last Friday that was in season!

Hope the rain stops!

Last night was cold so perfect thermal spotting weather but also flat calm - I could see the lights reflecting of houses in the far distance. Only one seen - way off but no interest in my efforts or the caller. There will be other nights….

Wow!, That was bbrrrrrrr,🥶 Number one turned up just as light was going ... I always get on station in full daylight, (had many in bright sunlight) ... watched him over a busy road for an hour all within around an area of a hundred or so square feet, continously trying his hand a catching snipe, Number two was observed way out at around a mile, completely uninterested in coming my way, Number one decided to follow the road verge away from me, crossing back & to over the road, never coming onto the bit I was on ...................... Until 9:55, 💥 Early bath, in a leccy blanketed bed for 10:35.IMG_0876.webp

nice job,

Storm Babet is about to arrive late Wednesday here, but the front is already apparent, very high winds ... no point shooting anything but directly into wind as most of my ground is 1300+ feet up & pretty draughty any normal nights.
