Nice fox. Long shot too .I haven't shot foxes the last couple of years or so as their numbers have been obviously low where I am and no issues have been caused. I don't know why but that has suddenly changed and I am seeing lots, even during the day. Brother in law's brother has also seen them and says he wants any seen to be shot. I have had 5 in the last 10 days, all during the day (well in the last 30mins either side of sunset)
None have been targeted as such, just taken while out waiting for deer from 4pm onwards. I don't take many photos but the one from yesterday sat down so neatly to the shot and when I finally got to it, I found it had been taking its last dump.
287yds from sticks with my back firmly up against a solid gate post. The elusive fallow proved to be, well, elusive. Next time Gadget!

Nice fox. Long shot too .
It's teeth look slightly misaligned!
They often poop after being shot.
#20, big lad heading straight to a paddock full of new born lambs.
Previously ignored calling closer but I was able to head him off.
Notice in the video him look at the IR light source and scent the air.

I feel a pang of guilt...#22 for me.
Dog fox on the bait at the bottom of the garden, so it was an attic window jobbie, sitting in the relative warmth of the house in a comfy office chair....
"It's Foxing but not as we know it sir"

The job has to be done when needed.I feel a pang of guilt...
I watched him for a minute through the thermal with his mate tonight.... my only consolation is that the farm has lambs out on the ground, it's a job that has to be done.

When the weather is freezing they will visit every night in Norfolk, I use carcase a lot in the winter. I have just put a road kill Muntac out, hind legs off and each leg into three, front legs off, head off and the chest opened completely, small stuff buried to keep the raptors from stealing it.I put out a Roe doe for bait a few days ago. Nothing touched it for 3 days, not even the eyes gone. Then yesterday morning something had had a go at it. I should have known better, I grew up being told that foxes come back TWO days after a good feed, as in a hen-house raid because I sat out last night and didn't see a thing and no change this morning. I guess he and the missus had gorged on the twins that he found inside. I'll try again this evening!
Sounds like you had a close shave with your Mrs too! Heck, think next time!!#24 for me.
An Attic window jobbie again... I told the missus I would spend an evening in with her
I'll pick it up in the morning before church....
It looks like a nice one, scrapping the pieces of buried squirrel out from under the turf at 70 yards, I do love a close one.
