The shot was lucky and could just as easily have hit it in the backside resulting in a wounded or lost animal.

On the new bit last night, this is the second time I have been busted by a huge farmyard floodlight, I really will have to impress on him if he wants them shot off his yard, off his Goat kids, he needs to shut off the light for a couple of hours, however, I did lay the sight onto several slow feeding Badgers at differing positions out on the meadow, using the laser to see if the firing solution altered, I only found the procedure by messing about a bit, the star? shaped thing down bottom left is what I had to move over the target then press the rangefinder again & ping.... a fresh aiming mark appeared in the reticle, happy days, just need to confirm how accurate (Or not), my inputs have been.

I shot some crows this morning and took the dog for a walk this afternoon.
Found an old sauce pan and hung it up.
Walked back what looked like, no wait, guessed 75 yds and took a shot with the 75 yard reticle. Guessed some wind too, gosh.
Anyway that went well so I walked further and guessed it to be 100 yards and launched another adding some windage, guessed of course, I forgot my wind flag set see.

Off hand too.

Good man. I just wonder how we oul fells managed to shoot anything before the advent of LRF (which I love) and all that new fangled technology - none of which caters for reading the wind and wind drift of course….

I went to test my Balistics calculator by feeding it some fake figures this morning…..waste of time, at 200 yards the wind wreaked havoc with my attempts. Wasted 60 rounds then gave up.

we were out on Friday doing the rounds on the lambing fields.the first half are done and the next batch starts in a week or so,1200 expected.
down to one of the farm's where we have shot 8 in the last few weeks.one fox has been giving us the slip and just walking up the banking 3 fields away.it follows the same route and only presents a shot for about 50 yds before reaching cover.
we are parked up on the track looking down on it's intended route and set up waiting for it.ant spotted it @600+ yds on it's way.it turned to go up the bank shielded by the tree line.i lined up on the opening where I could get a shot.pinged the spot 386yds and waited for it to come into view.it showed itself,ant shouted and shot was away,big thud and it staggered 50 yds into a small pit.we found it dead just in the dip around the pit where ant had marked it.now back to the car over various barbed wire infested hedge's.we saw nothing else so home for cake and medals.
