Had an order for some bunnies so popped out last night even though there was a full moon but I did better than expected.
Saw a hedgehog and a frog
On the way home saw another big hob ferret ran over on the road , that's the 2nd one in about 6 months.
Never seen so many fleas on the rabbits , they were crawling with them.

Reason I won't go out on "The SOMME" even with a powerful headtorch,

, Beef stock gets in up to the knee, & it never dries out.
The .222 lives on!, The vixen that sat by the power pole @ 200 yards plus, head shot.

I know it looks like a polecat but there are no wild polecats in Co Durham only wild ferrets.

Took a good 150 yards shot at a magpie today.
I was quite pleased until I missed his mate that came to inspect the new cadiver
After that we intercepted Canada's on a struggling crop so had to be moved on.
Got four down before the 1 hundred bird flock got the message.
It would good to hear other stories of forays a field in daylight hours.

I had a jill polecat last season in a tunnel trap, right on one boundary. Covered in ticks, probably 25/30 of them.
Doubt it was wild,more likely lost next door whilst ferretting.

Yep I've read that but Im not convinced . There are loads of rabbits in this area and lots of ferretters too. A lot of ferrets have been lost over the years and bred in the wild.
I was speaking to a Grouse keeper who stated he traps around 20 a year.

Im going down the No2 i said - seen a few runs round the splash and under the feeders
I fed that the other morning for the song birds she said - its just so so wet - do it next week
The rest is history - humble pie - and chips please ----again
