Out last night.

The shot was a touch high but certain.

Interesting in that my little dog tells me if a fox is about by scent marking where they have peed. Today she marked this area again and tonight I actually witnessed this fox sniffing and scent marking where Jess had done it a few hours before!
There is a guy on Y tube that traps the wild dogs , and he uses his Kelpie to find there marks then he sets the traps, seen a couple of the Ausies doing the same thing .

#4 tonight, I had a good poke about for a couple of hours on foot with a little success, then on a slow drive home I looked at a field next to a poultry site, a dog fox was poking about on it, he seemed interested in the couple of hares on there, bit of a stalk & shuffle to get a bit closer, decided to take a longer shot for me as the bugger started to leave the field, broadside at 224yards, vision was not great through the Pard as so much moisture in the air, but good enough.

Sat out all night for a problem “ fox”. I’m convinced his issue is a badger, but sat out anyway
Saw hee haw, but stumbled into this fine chap on my way in

Hate shooting them this early , but new rules, and numbers must be met.
Did see a very handsome chap who will be left till he’s coloured up and at his best.

Yeah, same in Norfolk, I went to a local poultry unit where I knew if one appeared it would be visible through the ancient Pard007, thermal spotter was decent despite the crappy conditions. Better than sitting indoors watching Crufts with the missus ;)

Went out last night as one of the farmers was whinging about field damage from boar at 9.15pm I heard some activity behind the open kanzel in the woods and saw a few thermal white images moving around then at 9.25 out came two large and two smaller boar and started ripping up the field. At 9.35 one of the smaller ones went broadside and I shot it behind the ear using the Pard 007 as usual, a 100m shot .270 Win S&B with Hornady 150 grain dropped it on the spot, the other three just trotted off gently to the woods. It weighed in gralloched at 27kg a female Überläufer.

Well I checked zero today after missing two last night. I shot at 100 and 186 yards and nothing was off target enough to miss!
I'm thinking it was the conditions last night, very damp air. I have no other explanation. I don't think it was me at all after playing the video back. 🤷
Just think mate... if you used quad sticks instead of that wobbly old tripod thing you would of had four in the bag 🤣🤣

Well after being lucky this afternoon bagging 2 does I had a try after dark for a fox.

While I was getting set up I scanned with the thermal and couldn't believe my luck , Charlie was crossing the field . He headed into some rushes and I could only see its head and neck.

A stinky dog fox @ 185 yds 😀

Well after having an abysmal start to the year with five foxes in the scope since January and nothing down I eventually shot one! So account opened with a dog, although I know it won’t be believed as I forgot my phone so no photo. ☹️
Of course we believe you. Why shouldn't we?
