Good going again mateOut on rabbit patrol again last night. Very still and not as many about as expected, some were very spooky so suspect somebody else has been around.
Found a ferret at the side of the road which had just been knocked over .Got talking to a local who pulled over and said he sees them all the time.

Farm I visit run by 2 brothers now in the 70s.Yep...sure we discussed it alreadyStuff thats big and unruly and charges around at night is best avoided....had a couple of close encounters that I wasnt fond of about 10 years ago so avoid the buggers if I can...yes I am a wuss

I had a close call with a group of unruly bullocks and that was enough for me. Rather go around then end up having to do a 100m dash with a heavy rifle ...or worse. Happy enough during the day but no chance at night...Farm I visit run by 2 brothers now in the 70s.
Few years ago one of their milkers had one brother on the floor in the shipon and only because the other bro was passing did he get saved.
They chopped the milking herd down to none after that but they weren’t the fittest farmers back then.
KB.
In a shed yes. In the field just run at them and give them a boot. They will soon stop and think.
Cows with calves just stay wide. If you have a dog let it off the lead. If the dog chases cattle shoot the dog, get another after learning how to train a dog.
Its a ferret mate , loads of rabbits round here and also ferretters. Many ferrets get lost and breed in the wild. Local grouse keepers trap plenty ferrets here.Good going again mate... and apologies but thats a polecat not a ferret ...have a word with yourself

Sorry mate...just being cheeky ... my view - if its in a cage, down a hole or trousers ...its a ferret ...if its roaming free its a polecatIts a ferret mate , loads of rabbits round here and also ferretters. Many ferrets get lost and breed in the wild. Local grouse keepers trap plenty ferrets here.
No truly wild polecats .

What calls you guys using I am having no response to the caller at all up here tksI went to bait up last night so took the rifle as well just in case.
I set up and had a call , a fox appeared travelling down the adjacent field but disappeared into the wood never to be seen again.
I left it a pile of rabbits to keep it fed until next time.
Distress calls on the foxpro seem to be working but again its not always the case. Hand call seems to be getting some in but I also called a vixen in with the vixen call recently as she was calling like mad. Mix it up a bit and try a few different callsWhat calls you guys using I am having no response to the caller at all up here tks
