Good going there mateGood dry(ish) night last night
First call was to a farm where 2 lambs went missing from the shed over the weekend
Old dog fox shot there and nothing else seen, left him for farmer and when he got up this morning I had a call like the man had won the lotto
Bout a mile up the road into another yard and called in 4 on one stand over 1/2 hour, shot 3 dogs from them
Tried a few other spots and 2 vixens from them
Tidy job there8, 9 & 10 - accompanied by the main man tonight, he will infact retrieve a fox!
Threaded the needle on number 1, she wouldn't break cover. Other two were pretty straightforward.
Mist and drizzle, but got the job done
(I'm not shooting them with TTSX as my scope profile suggests.... that home load and the factory VMAX I use for foxes happily have the same POI)
Top drawerOut last night, but only to collect a nice big bag of lamb from farmer!
Chops, leg and shoulder joints, and a bonus cut of loin. I offer each time but he will not accept penny-one for it. Half a carcass roughly, wonder how much that would cost at the butchers?
Very grateful as always.
My sore ribcage is less painful now, after my motorbike tumble, week off next week so hoping rain abates: I need to get back out! Lambing is upon us at a couple of perms.
At least it will be dry inside....its shocking here yet again...hoping Sat will be dry.....4 Ex farm Lamb cutlets with Mash for T tonight.![]()

First time ever ive brought in every single animal on the farm, bit of a luxury & squeezing odds & sods together. Cattle, in lamb, few remaining stragglers fat lambs, replacement ewe lambs, tups, culls, the lot are in on straw & silage. Its getting silly now, even walking across fields leaves a mess!
I can understand why! If brother had space for 2.5k sheep I'm sure he'd do the sameFirst time ever ive brought in every single animal on the farm, bit of a luxury & squeezing odds & sods together.
