Good for the grass lol. The pace these farms go you have to be out either within a day of silaging or wait a few days (as you well know).

I probably scan more then most but hedges and cover hide a lot and there is only so much you can check. I'm sure all of us have thought "where did that fox come from"

On the timeframe I mentioned it was the delay between grass being cleared and slurry going out. I dont generally bother until the grass is off the field if I can avoid it...makes getting about more of a pain.

This is so very true so many times I have thought where has that fox got to and lo and behold it has snook up behind me and is just sitting on its haunches and is thinking what is this silly bu^$"er up to I wonder.

Agree entirely I have got the medal with several bars!
On occasions you can walk past a hidden fox and it will just let you go by and when your well.past it will come out and continue on it's way.
Always expect the unexpected when foxing.

Keep at it SD - keep knocking the stuff we do - foxes - crows - maggies - It does help
Our local trust is now on about releasing elk - imagine in a cage !

Trip up to a new lease North of the wall and took this lovely dark buck, and my pal a little cull buck... many others seen.

Then ahead of our Scottish pals pheasants arriving in a couple of week said I'd skip me bed and head out foxing with him last night.

With a new thermal scope to put through its paces, 3 down, should of been 5 but the wind was whipping off the Irish sea ... thats my excuse anyway!
