Out last night.

Hadn’t seen much about lately although a bait pipe was being visited. Unfortunately the sheep in the field kept pushing the camera around 🙄
I pitched up this evening determined to sit out until 12 or maybe later.
In the dusk I was fiddling with the Pard as I hadn’t set it up properly on my, new to me, 243. Naturally the fox appeared as I was doing this. It picked up a piece of bait lying in front of the pipe and disappeared into bushes to eat it I presumed. There was still enough light to shoot so I bade my time. A few minutes later it appeared and I sent it. A barren vixen.
I got a thumbs up from a local resident who heard the shot. Nice to be appreciated 🤪.
I headed off down the estate in the direction of home it now being close to midnight. I just had to take a peak in a far field the silage had been bailed on. Luck was with me but the fox was pretty close and took off. Nonetheless I saddled up and went on foot creeping from tree to tree along a track. Charlie had settled down after a few backward glances and was mooching again. Sent him on his way to wherever they go.
The 243 does a good job with 75gr V-max, a bit graphic so I’ll spare the faint hearted.
