hi guys, new user to the forum here. can anybody shed some light on the benefits or disadvantages, of either over barrel or muzzle forward moderators please. How many people use a rear bushing too? Other than stopping rain and other crap getting inside the mod, do they serve a particular purpose in relation to the gasses emitted from the muzzle. TIA

they do not
they serve one purpose
to **** up the bluing or finish on your barrel
bin them
most self respecting manufacturers have already disposed of the design

chamber size is one of the significant aspects of moderator design
but it only comes into effect with large cartridges with larger powder and resultant gas volumes

the other aspect is balance as they bring the weight back over the barrel and allow a smaller baffle stack

a decent muzzle can still outperform a massive chambered reflex of a poor design
