Don't forget if it's a Honda you can get gear reductions for some models. Just doing a 54% GR for my son due to big tyres. You may need to extend the swinging arm and driveshaft for clearance though. Once done there's no stopping them though.
If they don't have diff's why do yahama's have diff lock's? also I know a lad/mechanic that used to weld them up on the old Honda 350's when they got oler as a cheap fix.

I think the "fix" that you're referring to is actually welding the hubs to the axles when the splines get worn down. Nothing to do with diff. I regularly use Suzuki, Honda and Kawasaki quads, and none have rear diff. Hence the slightly awkward and counterintuitive body contortion required for really tight turns.

There is no rear diff on the old 350's, the 350D that is. There's a spool, just a crown wheel and pinion, but no diff. If you don't believe me then come take a look, I have several rear ends of these as they're an upgrade for the 300.
