Pard 007 sp base mag?

I'm sure this was been asked on here before, but I can't seem to find the thread.

Does anyone know for certain what the base mag of the 007sp is please? I know the older 12 and 16mm were 1x and 2x respectively, but some say the sp is 2x base mag, so used on a 6x minimum mag scope this would be 12x, which seems OK. But the boxes and a local rfd seem to suggest 4x base mag, so that would, be 24x on a 6x scope, which seems unusable for anything under 200yards? I've also heard 2.7x, but I've no idea which is correct now!?

I use the current one on a variety of scopes from 3 to 6x basemag, so want to avoid new scopes if possible.

Thanks!

I have read threads on this and I think you will find the 12mm is x1 but the 16mm is x1.3 and the SP is x2.3 (the maths supports these figures) so you will have a minimum mag of about x14 with a x6 base mag on your scope. This won't give you much FOV for anything close in. Personally, I would be on x8 to beyond 150m.

Bear in mind that it is not quite as simple as multiplying one by the other. The Pard will be magnifying the FoV given by mag on the scope, so you get a larger picture of what the scope sees - so it's only an FoV issue if the sight picture in the Pard becomes a partial of the sight picture through the scope. Where it can have an impact then is in the size of the reticle, particularly if you are looking to use the subtensions to account for drop. I defer to others on what the mag ranges are for each unit.

Theres not a huge difference between NV007 and NV007SP in terms of magnification and FOV...
Sold mountains of these things and never had one complaint... plus your getting the higher resolution sensor on the SP model
