Pard 009

Anyone on here got any thoughts on the pard 009 spotter thinking of getting one for spotting foxes on the shoot

Is PARD still selling this model?
Or are you buying used one?

It was my first step into night vision. I bought one to see, if NV is for me.
One week later I ordered Pard 007 and never regret to buy both of them.
Eventually I upgraded to thermal spotter, but my friend and his father are still using my 009 for boar hunting.

The one I got in 2019 has VCSEL IR and was very good up to 100-150m.
I used external IR, to save battery and to get some more reach.
What will you hunt with it?

Didnt know they made them in 2019 they are the replacement for the nv019

Oh, my bad.

I was too quick this time.

Yes, you are right. PARD 019 was introduced in 2019 and this is the one I have been using for my first years in NV hunting.

I had a chance to test PARD 009 last year, for a month or two.
It is much more compact than 019, battery consumption is better and if you really can't afford thermal it will do the job.
You will have to rely on eyeshine in 90% of cases and any kind of fog or high humidity in the air, will make it basically useless.

I would save some more money and go for a thermal spotter at your place.
ThermTec Cyclone15 or HIKMICRO Lynx19 2.0 are not expensive, but will spot a fox at 300m easily.

This is a picture of a Roe at approximately 100m, with Pard009. It is just a print screen from paused video. Actual quality of the picture on the screen is much better.

Cheers

Hello, I bought the 019 years ago and it is still working ok, although with a new owner, the 009 looks much better going by the reviews, You can buy similar off Ali Express for about £100, Not everyone can afford Thermal, An even cheaper way is a Megaorei M 5 as you can switch the reticule off and with a decent I/R torch 250 yards,

Just to add , Megaorei have out a new scope, NK 008, Looks interesting

I had a Bushnell 6 x 45? Night vision monocular which was good. But soon got a cheap thermal spotter which was a different animal all together. I had an infiray e3n. It's an older basic model but worked well. You might get one of these 2nd hand for a similar budget as the pard spotter.

Thanks for all the advice people got me thinking might look for a second hand thermal wasn't sure if the cheap ones were up to it the biggest field i have permision for is 250/300yds long so mauve middle of the range will do it

You won't regret getting a thermal.

I bought one and sent it back. Resolution was ok, thought it used a lot of battery on IR and I just didn’t feel I wanted to go down spotter route. They are all too bright for my eyes
