Pard Night Stalker 4K

Anyone got any further info or hands on? Or when it might hit uk retailers hands? I was going to pull the trigger on an Alpex 4K LRF in the coming months…… however I use the Pard DS35 on my airgun and have grown to love it.

It seems like it’s had a soft launch today.

Bruce has already mentioned it won’t be competition vs Alpex, however it’s stating ED glass and 100mm objective lens as an option which were the previous points of any negative.

It’s going to be lighter and having the inbuilt illuminator interests me for the ranges I’ll be using it at, one less thing to worry about.

Keen to see and know more.

According to the spec on the PARD website it has a vcsel (laser) IR
If that is the case, I doubt very much if Sportsman Gun Centre will bring it in to the UK in case they fall foul of Trading Standards

Cheers

Bruce

When it states a choice of 850 / 940 doesn’t that mean a vcsl / led option? Or both laser?

50/70/100 objective option. Pard is significantly lighter than Hik at 50/70 so I doubt the 100 option is heavier than Alpex with bolt on torch.

Ignore. However the US website doesn’t show a led option for the DS35 either. So I guess it’s a wait for a proper euro spec release.

100mm objective lens plus the additional surrounding metal! In old money the diameter of the scope at the front will over 4 inches. o_O

Well, if it does get released in Europe, it won't have a vcsel IR - the laws on lasers are a lot tougher than they are here
IMHO, It could be sold in the UK with a vcsel IR.
SGC stopped selling the DS35s with vcsel IRs because one testing laboratory refused to accept that the laser IR fitted to the DS35 could be classified in the same way as an LED or any other conventional lamp that is used to illuminate an area, as opposed to a typical laser which projects a narrow (and potentially dangerous) beam of light as used in rangefinders and laser pointers
The technical standards surrounding the safety of lasers and conventional lamps are horribly complicated and doing the tests to confirm compliance with these standards requires expensive equipment only found in laboratories.
AFAIK, there is only one laboratory in the UK accredited to test both lasers and conventional lamps, and when SGC put the DS35 with a vcsel IR to them for testing, they failed it on the grounds that it was a laser and it's power was such that it did not meet some of the safety requirements of that standard
They could have done tests to show that the light coming from the laser could be classified under the standard covering conventional lamps - and under that standard it would have been legal for sale, but the lab refused to do the tests so SGC decided that they could not afford to take the chance of continuing to sell PARD products with laser IRs
It should be noted that ownership of any laser of any power is not an offence in the UK - as long as it's not used recklessly
Selling a high power laser to a member of the public can be an offence and this is what SGC were trying to avoid

Hi all,
I’m a new PARD reviewer based in the UK, awaiting one of the new Nightstalker 4K scopes to be sent out to me for review on my YT channel (Cumbria Country Sports).

After seeing this thread I have emailed the regional sales director for the UK & Europe, I await his reply, soon as I know more I will be in touch on here and let you guys know what’s happening😀

Any update?

Do you have any idea what the Pard customer service is like if buying direct should anything go wrong?
PARD give a 2 year warranty with it, but I think it would have to return to China for any repairs
Since it was not bought via the UK supply chain where Sportsman Gun Centre are the sole importer/distributor, then I doubt they'd want to get involved in a warranty claim for what they would regard as a "grey" import - particularly since it is a product they do not stock
